He hadn’t pushed me about anything, he hadn’t made any comments about our future or teased me about us sleeping together. He had been the utmost and perfect gentleman all night and it only made me want him more. I kept thinking I would find something about him that I didn’t like. I would see the man who had been a player for so many years but it was like that man didn’t exist. Instead, I saw a man I could see myself falling for if I wasn’t careful.

As we stood and thanked the staff, Cameron put his hand out to take mine. I did as he wanted and I felt a thrill of us touching. It was the part of the evening I was anticipating but also dreading. Would he ask me back to his room? Would he assume it was inevitable? Did I want to go with him? What would it mean if we woke up in each other’s arms tomorrow morning?

I wasn’t sure if Cameron could sense my hesitation and nerves but he brought my hand up to his lips and kissed it before saying, “It’s a lovely night. Would you like to take a moonlight stroll along the beach?”

“That would be lovely,” I answered honestly. My head spun slightly and I wanted to believe it was from all the champagne I drank but I knew it was because of the man who was standing next to me.

Hand in hand, we walked down the beach. It was deserted as it had been the night before but I could hear the distant sound of the band playing in the background.

“The Irish band seems to be going strong,” I said.

“They are Irish, I’m sure they could go all night,” Cameron said.

“There is that. Did you want to go and listen to them?” I asked.

“Not unless you want to. I can’t think of anything that would be better than the company I’m currently keeping.”

“Me either,” I squeezed his hand and we kept walking.

“What do you want to do tomorrow?” Cameron asked.

“I thought I would read my book on the beach. I would have today but someone persuaded me to do something else.”

“Do you regret it?” Cameron asked.

I turned my head to look at him. The question on his face and the look in his eyes told me he was asking me about more than just the parasailing. It was strange to see what almost looked like nervousness staring back at me. We might not have a future but I wouldn’t regret what we had done or what we were going to do. I needed him to know that.

“No. Not in the least. This trip has been the best vacation of my life.”

“And it has only begun,” Cameron squeezed my hand.

“It’s going to be strange having our parents here in a few days.”

“I’m looking forward to seeing them. I’ll be curious what they thought of the other resort and if it’s one they want to purchase.”

“Do you think they will?” I asked.

“Time will tell. Dad wants to expand their holdings in the area and it seemed like a good addition. From what I understand it's more family friendly but it’s good to have variety.”

“It will be a place you would never go,” I said.

“Why do you say that?” he asked.

“I can’t see you wanting to vacation with a bunch of kids.”

“A bunch of kids, no. My own? Possibly.”

It was the first time I had ever heard Cameron talk about kids. He had always taken the attitude that he didn’t want to be tied down by anything beside his job. Certainly not by a woman or by kids. His comments were news to me.

“Do you want kids?” he asked.

“Yes. I’m just not sure how many,” I admitted.

“If they are like me, you would want ten? If they are like Alison, maybe one?” he asked.

“More like the other way around,” I said with a laugh.

He stopped walking and turned me so I was facing him. His arms wrapped about my back and he pulled me to him. I lifted my head to see him smiling down at me.
