I didn’t mind talking up Cameron to Trina but I drew the line in actually setting them up. Cameron never had any problem getting a woman and it wouldn't be any different now. I don’t know why, but I felt like I was crossing a line with us if I did. I also didn’t want to think about how I was silently hoping he would reject Trina and come talk to me.

It wouldn't happen so there was no point in thinking it would. The best thing to do was to enjoy the vacation and not think about having a relationship with a man who clearly was not interested in me.

“That was nice of you,” Laura, my best friend, said to me as Trina moved towards the other end of the pool and Cameron.

“She seemed nice,” I said.

“It was nice but also stupid,” Laura said.

“Do you not think the two of them will hit it off?” I asked.

“Oh, I’m sure they will. With her perky boobs, bigger than life personality, and love of using her hands, she will be the perfect fuck buddy for Cameron for the week.”

“Then what seems to be the problem?”

“She isn’t the one he should be with.”

“Did you see someone else that Cameron might like?”

I looked around the pool. It was a good size with a large number of loungers and cabanas along the sides. It was just deep enough to make it easy to walk across and hang out or swim if you wanted. There was a volleyball net that was set up in the middle for a game that would start soon. There were the typical group of people hanging out, all various ages and body types but none that I thought Cameron would be attracted to.

“Yes. I’m looking right at her,” Laura said.

Her green eyes were full of mischief as she looked at me. Her blonde hair was piled on top of her head but some of it had escaped her messy bun and was coming down the sides.

“Me?” I asked and pointed my index finger at myself.

“Yes, you. Who else?”

I turned and pointed at Trina who was talking to Cameron. He had come into the pool when she had approached and they were talking. Cameron could be a bit awkward with people, it was actually one of the things that seemed to help him get so many women. He looked at ease with Trina. I told myself they looked good together and would have fun. I didn’t allow the jealous or ache to fester but instead turned and smiled at Laura.

“She seems perfect for him.”

“She isn’t you. When are you going to realize the man has a thing for you?”

“Cameron is not interested in me.” I shook my head.

“Are you sure? The man had been giving you fuck me eyes all afternoon.”

“Those are just his eyes. I’m sure he gives you the same look.”

“Doubtful as he knows I would never go for him or any man for that matter,” Laura said.

“You wouldn’t go straight for him?” I teased.

“Not when he’s clearly interested in you. You didn’t see the way he was looking at you when you were talking to Trina. The man could have laid you out and licked you up. I bet he’s good at that. I wonder if being a doctor and knowing the body so well would make him a better lover.”

“Not something I’m going to ever find out,” I said but I could feel myself blushing.

“You would like to. Come on, you’ve had a little crush on him since you first met, what six years ago?”

“I might have but a lot has changed since then. I have matured, he has turned into Dr. Walker, top notch surgeon and lover to all. Plus, our parents got married. Things changed.”

“The more things change the more they stay the same. You can’t stop how you feel about a man, no matter how hard you try. You could never do anything because you were always with some dude. Now you aren’t.”

“That’s because I want to take a break from men.”

“Says every woman before she falls into bed with a guy. Let Cameron be your rebound, or maybe something more.”
