Jen: She sure did. And it was short and sweet. Honestly. She didn’t go on and on or anything. She said—hang on, I have it here. I wrote it down—"Torin, you took everything I believed about love, life, home, and myself, and turned it upside down, made it bigger and brighter and just…more. More than I ever knew it all could be. Thank you for not giving up on me when I turned you down the first time. And the second time.” And then he grinned at her and leaned over and said something in her ear that made her blush and laugh. And I almost died.

Lindsey: Gah! Me too!

Jen: And then she said, “I love you and I love this country and I can’t wait for…everything that’s ahead of us.” And then…that kiss!

Lindsey: I know. It was like Torin just couldn’t not kiss her anymore! He dipped her back and I mean, that kiss went on and on! I was fanning my face, I’ll tell you! There were lots of whoops and cheers. It was better than any movie kiss I’ve ever seen. Period.

Jen: And let’s just acknowledge why the speech and kiss were amazing. Yes, they were romantic, and no, we haven’t heard much from the princess. But let’s just point out that ever since that farmer’s market when we first saw Abigail and Torin together in public, people have been talking about how incredible it is to have a princess who is so open and honest about dealing with social anxiety. She's been very transparent about how difficult it is for her to do public speaking, how she dealt with some bullying as a kid, and how it’s always been a struggle having people looking at her and judging her.

Lindsey: Yes, we should acknowledge that. But she has really garnered a lot of support. Rightfully so. First of all, for any public figure to talk about anything that makes them vulnerable is huge. Especially when it's something that is so relatable. I think she's really made a lot of people feel more comfortable talking about their own vulnerabilities. Then to think about a woman like that falling in love with a prince and becoming a princess? Talk about having to overcome your issues and step into the spotlight.

Jen: But that’s the thing, right? She hasn't completely overcome it. She's been very honest about how nervous she still gets and how she still throws up a lot before she has to speak to us. But she’s still there doing it. I just think that's really cool.

Lindsey. I agree. A thousand percent. Which is really why none of us expected her to say anything at the wedding. That made it all the more meaningful.

Jen: For sure.

Lindsey: I even heard that she was supposed to give a speech at one of her sisters’ weddings as a maid of honor and she struggled with that.

Jen: Was it one of her cousins who told you that?

Lindsey: Yes! At the pub the night before the wedding!

Jen: Yes! Another one told me that Torin was at that wedding reception and totally stepped in and rescued her from that speech.

Lindsey: Oh my God! Was that the wedding where they met?

Jen: No, the second one. The first one was her sister Charlie’s wedding.

Lindsey: Right. The second was Ami’s. I’m telling all of you, her family is delightful. They filled up the pub the night before the wedding and I know a bunch of you got to meet them. Wow, are they a lot of fun.

Jen: And wow, they can drink Irish whiskey like they were born here! And they grow them just as handsome and charming in Louisiana as we do here. I’m not so sure that there weren’t some Irishmen sneaking down the bayou at one time long ago and mixing some Irish into those bloodstreams.

Lindsey: Would not surprise me a bit.

Jen: Oh, and what about when Abigail told Torin in her speech that she’s so glad he didn’t give up when she first turned him down?

Lindsey: Right? She turned him down the first time he asked her out. And the first time he asked her to marry him. He even said he couldn’t get a second dance with her.

Jen: I know! The woman turned down a prince. Our prince. One of the most handsome, charming, intelligent, amazing men in the world. What if she’d never said yes?

Lindsey: . It really just makes their whole story better.

Jen: It really does. Okay, we need to run down the rest of the guest list quick for everyone.

Alex and Astrid Olsen were both there, of course. They’re friends of the family. Their parents were there too. I will say, it was very sad to not see Duke Alfred. He’s been such a fixture here with the royal family. I missed him.

Lindsey: Me too. I’m sure the king missed him too.

Jen: I’m sure. Of course, the royal family from Denmark was here. There were also several friends from Ireland and the US—besides the entire Landry clan.

Lindsey: Oh, and I see a couple of comments…well, questions really… yes, all of the Landry boys are married. Yes, even Wyatt and Mitch. Their girls, Trudy and Paige, were in attendance and those guys are very spoken for. Sorry, ladies.

Jen: Yeah, I had a chance to talk to some of the Landry girls and they have great senses of humor, but I don't think any of us want to mess with them.

Lindsey: Agreed! It was really awesome to see Princess Fiona back. And, of course, little Saoirse. Who has grown up so much. They are always welcome here. And I think this is the second time we've had a chance to kind of see Fiona's husband. This time he was actually out socializing a little as well.

Jen: Even Colin, Fiona's longtime bodyguard and friend, is married now.

Lindsey: Honestly, there was this just huge group of people that landed and kind of took over, and I think everybody had a hell of a good time. I think it’s safe to say that anytime the Landrys and their friends want to come back, they would be very welcome here.

Jen: I agree. Especially after Abigail’s grandmother, Ellie, taught our bartender how to make a couple of drinks. Everyone's a pretty big fan at this point.

Lindsey: I had one of those and yes, she needs to come back! So anyway, huge congratulations to our prince and princess. We love you. Welcome home, Princess Abigail, we’re so happy you’re here. And to Prince Torin, if all of your decisions for us are as wonderful as who you chose to be our next queen, then we are all going to live happily ever after for sure.
