I consider my response. And then I decide to keep it simple. And honest.

And blame it on the hard cider.

Good.

Okay, that might have been a mistake. I don’t want him to think…

It’s all been so very good, Abigail.

I read that over. Four times. Well, damn. I never should have texted him tonight.

But as I tuck the phone into my purse, pay my tab, and head out into the June night, I can feel that I’m still smiling.

Wait ’Til I Tell Ye

EPISODE 749 TRANSCRIPT

Lindsey: He’s still in the US? What the hell is going on? It’s been over a week since the wedding.

Jen: Yep. He’s still there. But so is Linnea. It seems that the prince has been taking the duchess out to dinner and enjoying the local culture in Shreveport.

Lindsey: Shreveport. What’s in Shreveport? When he lived in Louisiana, it was down around New Orleans, right? And I always forget Linnea is a duchess.

Jen: Right. Her grandfather, besties with King Diarmuid, was given the title and all that land way back. She looks amazing in that green dress in those photos from their night out.

Lindsey: She does. But why Shreveport? Anyone know? If you have a theory, call in or comment on one of our social media posts. They’ve been seen entering and exiting the Magnolia Hotel, which is very posh. They’re in the penthouse. Jonah Greene, the prince’s longtime friend and bodyguard, is there with them so this must be palace-approved, right?

Jen: Oh, it is! Didn’t you see the statement from the palace?

Lindsey: Wait, there’s an official statement?

Jen: Yes! And I quote, “The Prince and Duchess have known each other since they were children. That they have a close friendship should be no surprise and their families are delighted that they enjoy spending time together.”

Lindsey: Okay, that sounds like the royal family is on board with this trip…and all it entails.

Jen: It really does. Oh! What if he proposes to her while they’re in the US?

Lindsey: Instead of doing it here? He should propose in Cara, don’t you think?

Jen: I know I’ll be disappointed if it happens somewhere else. Even if the US is meaningful to the prince, this is their home.

Lindsey: I agree. Okay, listeners, let us know what you think.

Chapter 11

Abigail

Idon’t hate my job.

I even want to love it.

I’m just not very good at it.

I like the company. What they do is amazing and I’m proud to be a part of it.

And my bosses are amazing. Objectively and in my opinion.
