But just then he pulls the SUV into the circular drive in front of the Magnolia Hotel. The bellmen come forward and Jonah opens his door to get out to hand over Abigail’s suitcase.

“Jonah,” I say.

“Yes?”

“Have them take her things to my room.”

He just lifts a brow.

I look back at Abigail. “It’s only practical to have my fiancée staying in my room with me, isn’t it?”

She sucks in a little breath. But then she nods. “Yes. That seems…rational.”

“Oh, boy,” Linnea mutters as she lets herself out of the car.

I’m grinning as I get out and go around to help Abigail out. When I open the door, she’s just sitting there, staring at the back of the seat in front of her.

“You ready?”

“To go up to your room?”

“Up to our room,” I say. “Unless you want your own room. I will let you have your space.” I don’t want her to have space, but I don’t want to push too hard. At least, right now.

She looks at me for a long moment. Then shakes her head. “I don’t want my own space.”

I blow out a relieved breath. “Good. Let’s go, princess.” I hold out my hand.

She hesitates for just a second. “We’re going to start using that nickname, huh?”

“Yes. We are.” I grin.

“And if I come upstairs with you, you’re going to make me say the P word too, aren’t you?”

I give a surprised huff of laughter. “Yes, I am. A couple of them.”

She sucks in a little breath, her eyes widening. Then she takes my hand. But doesn’t say a word.

I grin. There will be time for words. Lots and lots of words.

I tug her out of the SUV and tuck her tightly against my side.

As the doormen swing the big glass doors open and I sweep her across the marble-floored lobby to the gold elevators and press the button for the penthouse, I definitely feel like a fucking king.

Chapter 19

Abigail

So, we’re engaged.

Torin isn’t going to marry anyone else.

At least, not for a year.

He’s going to become king.

I’m going to get my farm.

And this all feels really, really good.
