I chuckle. “Honestly, Rosey, I love it. I love how obsessed we still are with each other even a year later.”

Her eyes shine with emotion. “I’m so happy for you, girlie.” She pauses and takes a deep breath. “Okay, enough of that or else I might start crying. Let’s get you camera ready. Your house is stunning, by the way.” Her gaze swivels around the guest bedroom, where I decided to set everything up to get ready.

Since the one year anniversary of my season on Heat Paradise is coming up, they wanted to check in on us and see how we’re doing. There are also talks of them rebooting the show, but nothing has been confirmed yet. I guess we’ll see.

“I’m still not used to the size of this place,” I respond. And I’m not. We only closed on our new house about a month ago and between everyone moving, buying furniture, and getting acclimated, it’s been a lot to take in. Although, having my own permanent nest to do whatever I want with has been an absolute dream.

Not to mention my men told me they were only getting the best when it came to houses, which means we didn’t settle on a single feature I wanted, causing the process to take even longer. It doesn’t matter though, because with them, wherever they are, is home to me.

Along with everything I wanted, top of which was a library, we found a place that has an industrial size kitchen for Kyle. Literally the man’s wet dream, and he’s loving it. Along with a pool for Ryland, a game room for the competitive streak between the twins, and a nice, relaxing alpha cave for Emmett.

Rosey artfully applies my makeup before pinning a leaf in my hair. She catches the bewildered expression on my face and smirks. “What? That gif is still circulating. I’m giving the fans what they want.”

I groan. “Why me?” I mutter half to myself.

“They love you, Verity. You’re probably the most loved omega in Heat Paradise history. You literally changed the future of our world.”

There’s another knock at the door. This time it’s Kyle. “Not to rush you, Peardrop, but five minutes and counting. Get your beautiful butt dressed, okay?”

After putting on a stunning two-piece gown with a high neckline and a peek-a-boo back, dropping all the way to the top of my ass, I waltz into the living room where the interview itself is taking place. We’ve positioned all the furniture to resemble the set back at Hidden Haven.

A small number of cameramen and crew are buzzing around, making sure everything is TV ready, but my focus is on the woman in a bright fuchsia blazer. Her long, jet black hair is curled around her shoulders, her back ramrod straight as she scans the space. I know I’ve seen her somewhere, but I can’t put my finger on where.

She smiles brightly when her gaze swivels to me and she immediately heads in my direction, sticking her hand out to greet me. Her lilac scent hits me first, and I instinctively know she’s an alpha by the overpowering notes.

“Hi, Verity. It’s so wonderful to actually meet you in person. My name is Nancy Winthrop, and I’m taking over for Mrs. Violet.”

I firmly grasp her hand, understanding that first impressions are essential. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Mrs. Winthrop.”

She wrinkles her nose. “Oh, please just call me Nancy. Mrs. Winthrop is my mother.”

I chuckle. “Understood. So, Nancy, I’ve been hearing rumors that Heat Paradise is starting up again.”

“Now, now. Who’s supposed to be doing the interview around here?” she asks with a teasing tone, although her eyes light with an excitement she can’t quite contain. “That’s correct—“

Before she can elaborate, a woman with a camera propped up on her shoulder calls out, “Two minutes! Places everyone.”

As I take a step toward the couch, a thought hits me. Where the fuck are my men?

They don’t keep me waiting long, sweeping in from farther in the house, flanking one another. I swear time slows as they strut toward me, looking sexy as fuck in their suits. My mouth waters at the sight, sending signals to my brain to flood my pussy. And there goes the squid ink. Shit, this is a terrible time. I don’t think I’ll ever not have such a visceral reaction to them though. My body knows they’re mine.

I’m wrapped in hugs as each of them takes a moment to greet me. Kyle swings me around, exactly like the first time we met, and it makes me giggle. Emmett immediately sinks his nose to my neck, marking me like he always does. I’ll never get enough of his dark chocolate. Andrik and Jedrik kiss either side of my cheeks while Ry simply throws his arms around me, and gives me a bear hug, exactly how he knows I like.

My best friend backs up, holding me at arm’s length. He whistles under his breath, and it’s accompanied by purrs and growls from the others. “Fuck, Ver Bear. You’re so unbelievably gorgeous.” His fingers rest on the bare skin of my back, sending a spike of desire shooting through me.

“One minute!” the same camerawoman calls, interrupting our moment. I mean, we’ve spent almost every waking second with each other for the past year during our pack leave, but it’s still not enough, in my opinion.

“Guess that’s our cue,” Emmett says, leading the way to the couch. I sit in the middle of Kyle and Ryland, while Emmett and the twins stand behind us. Technically, we special ordered some furniture that fits all of us, but that’s not the vibe they wanted for this interview.

“And live in...” the woman says before counting down from three with her fingers.

Nancy doesn’t miss a beat. As soon as the red light blinks on, she shoots a megawatt smile at the camera. “Hello, Heat Fiends,” she drawls, making sure to really emphasize it. “I know all of you are buzzing about the possibility of a Heat Paradise reboot, and I’m here to confirm that rumor once and for all.

“Desmond Abernathy himself, billionaire tech company CEO, the alpha dubbed the most eligible bachelor, has offered his private island to film the TV show.

“This new season, however, will have a brand new set of rules and stipulations. All the decision-making power will be left to the omega herself. You’ll still be able to vote for your favorite alphas, but she retains the final say.” Nancy turns to me. “Verity, as someone who has advocated for this change from almost the beginning, would you care to share your thoughts?”

“I think that’s brilliant and something that truly needed to happen. As someone who’s extremely drawn to my mate’s scents, I believe that played a large role in our compatibility. I don’t know about you all, but I’d rather not spend the rest of my life with someone who smells like dryer lint.” I pause for a moment, thinking through what I need to say. “That’s not to say that alpha will smell like dryer lint to everyone, though. To the right person, they might believe it’s the freshest fabric softener. Anyway, I’m glad we, as a society, are giving more power to the omegas.”
