Page 7 of Holding Avery

I'm pushed into the back of a car and before I can right myself and kick away the blanket that is now trapping my legs, Murphy has sat forward and told the driver to ‘take us home’…his home. A sense of dread settles around me and I know for certain that I can’t go back there. I can’t go back knowing he has someone there, maybe even staying in his room with him thus leaving my room ‘empty’ like he said it was. I have to try to make him understand before he can take me to the apartment. I have to try to knock some sense into him before it’s too late.

Chapter Seven

Murphy

She argues with me all the way back and I’m sure she thinks it’s doing something when in reality all I’m doing is paying attention to the way her breasts sway in the tank top she’s wearing and the fact that I can’t do what I really want to do until after we talk. Even if she is only wearing a pair of goddamned panties and nothing else. Does she even realize how easy it would be to yank those fuckers to the side and sink into her?

“You have to realize this is for the best, damn it. You have to see that this is the right thing to do. Are you listening to me?”

The car pulls up to the curb before I have to answer, and I jump out dragging Avery with me. I don’t give her time to go even a step away from me before I have her back over my shoulder, and I walk to the door. Our doorman looks at my bundle and his mouth drops open.

“Oh Miss Avery, uh…how are you?”

“Barry?” I feel her hands sink into my back again and see her flip her hair back over her head so she can look at Barry. “Oh thank God! Barry, help me! Help…”

Her plea ends in a yelp as my hand finds her bottom. I give her another smack just because I like how it feels to have her ass in my hand.

“Hello Barry, please don’t let anyone up. Miss Avery and I have some business to discuss, and I don’t want to be disturbed.”

I give him a big toothy grin. Barry has always liked Avery, but I pay his house payment so I’m not real shocked when he moves out of the way to let me pass. Or by the look he keeps shooting me. I may pay him but that doesn’t mean he’s not going to call my mother and tattle on me. And I’m counting on it this time. Maybe she can help me talk some sense into Avery. I take Avery to the elevator and laugh out loud when she tries to reach out to the side and halt my progress. The elevator is mirrored so I can see her soft ass and her pissed-off face with its pouty lips and dirty mouth.

“Murphy, what will people think if they see me flipped over your shoulder like a sack of potatoes? Won’t all your friends have questions? Questions you don’t want to answer? Why not just let me down so I can freakin walk already? You’ve proven your point. You wanted me back and now I’m back.”

I have no idea what ‘friends’ she is talking about. The only person on our floor is Dillion and he wouldn’t think twice that I have Avery thrown across my back. He might ask if he could hold the door for me but not why or how it happened.

“No! You’re a runner, Avery! You’ll just take off as soon as the doors open, and we need to settle this.”

“What? What is ‘this’, Murph? What is there to settle, damn it?”

The words come out muffled against my back as all the fight goes out of her and I see the utter exhaustion cross her face. I don’t waste time once I let myself in and relock the door behind us. As soon as the alarm is set, I head to the room, passing hers and going straight to mine. I toss her on the bed and take a second to watch her bounce on it before going to my dresser.

When I turn back around, I see her trying to roll off the other side but she’s not quite quick enough. I can easily grab onto her ankle and pull her back where I want her. Her shirt goes up giving me more than a hint of the underside of her breasts. Her hands come up to tug her clothes down giving me the opportunity I need.

She cries out when I slap the cuffs on one of her wrists and raise one of her arms up so I can connect it to one of the spindles of the headboard.

“What...?! What the hell, Murphy?!”

“Don’t start with me, Avie. I can tell you haven’t been taking care of yourself -not eating, not sleeping- and I’ve had enough of it!”

“You…” She looks at me with a gobsmacked look on her face. “You…have had enough? You…you ass!” Her voice cracks right before she calls me an ass.

“Flattery will get you nowhere, sunshine.”

I watch her pull at the cuff and then huff when she finds no give in it. I pull my tie open and start unbuttoning my shirt. The movement has Avery’s eyes coming to me. Something I don’t mind at all.

“What…what the hell are you doing?”

“Getting comfortable. So we can take a nap together since I can tell how exhausted you are.”

My hand drops to my belt, and her eyes widen. “Whoa, wait! Murph! You…don’t have to take your clothes off. We…we can lay fully clothed.”

“Yeah…but this way is better.” I drop my pants leaving me in just my black boxers.

Avie’s eyes widen even more and stay glued to me as I move closer to the bed. I crawl in beside her and try to hide the smile as I notice her eyes lower, and she can’t seem to stop staring at the front of my boxers…and what’s under them currently tenting the material.

I flip her so her back is to my front and put my arm under her head wrapping the other one around her waist. I pull her into me so tight there is no place our bodies aren’t touching. She tries at first to talk but I can tell she is too tired.

“Sleep, there will be time to talk later.”
