Before diving in head-first.
The water was warm, and filled me with a delight I simply couldn’t explain. The smile that crossed my face as the ocean water washed me of my sins helped to cleanse the part of my soul that felt guilty for ever enjoying the getaways in the first place. I could no longer deny the fact that Dominik had awakened something within me. I couldn’t deny that after our contract was up, I’d end up searching for a partner to indulge in these specific proclivities. I enjoyed handing over control to someone else. I enjoyed having my body toyed with. I enjoyed being rendered speechless at the overstimulation of sensations that rushed throughout my entire being.
The smallest part of me feared I’d never find that within anyone other than Dominik.
But the gurgling of my stomach pulled me out of my thoughts.
“Time to cook some real fucking food,” I murmured to myself.
I floated upon the water for a few more minutes, relishing the weightlessness of the world around me. I closed my eyes and basked in the moonlight as little fishes swam beneath me. They kissed my toes, and my lower back. I felt them playing hide-and-seek within the tendrils of my swirling hair as it floated upon the water’s back. I’d never experienced a heaven quite like that, and I knew I never would again.
What the hell has this man done to me?
After washing myself off in the ocean, I swam over to the steps that helped me heave myself back onto the balcony. I picked up my clothes and tossed them inside, leaving them on the floor near the French double doors before I went in search of a towel. The smell of fresh island fruit pulled me back into the kitchen where I plucked a fresh mango from a bowl on the kitchen table.
And as I broke it down with the first knife I could find, I heard Dominik’s muted snores echoing through the floor beneath my feet.
Which simultaneously enraged me and made me grin as I tossed a piece of mango between my lips.
