No, she didn’t.
“Moni!” Rez shrieks as red coats her cheeks and she stares at her best girlfriend. No one can replace me as the best friend. The room goes silent as everyone turns toward the girls.
“What? Don’t you need extra underwear? You’re always running out,” she points out. “I thought humans did that wash and rewear thing, or turn them inside out if you can’t wash and don’t have a closet available, but that sounds gross to me.”
Rez leans in and tries to keep her voice down, but it’s no use. We all have superior hearing. “I only run out because the guys keep ripping them off of me.”
“Ooh!” Moni says with understanding. “Well, that’s easy to solve. Just go without.”
Rez lets out a groan as her head falls back and her shoulder slump. I let out a whistle, and Ryker and Zeke join me in my cat calling. Knox lets out a few growls, and Rez’s cheeks turn pink. “I just can’t with you,” she says as she walks back to Lilith and me. Knots and Levi chuckle as they turn back to their instructors, who seem to be entertained as well.
“She does have a good point,” Lilith says once Rez rejoins us. “You can keep extra clothes in the sacks or in your S.I.N box.” Rez sends a pointed look at Lilith, but she either doesn’t mind or doesn’t see it as she starts our training. “Let’s see if you can reach yours.”

After thirty minutes of Rez and me straining and not reaching our S.I.N. box, Lilith calls for a break. She goes over vials and spells that aren’t on the curriculum at school, but she insists they are vital here in Hell. Honestly, I kinda zone out and watch Rez’s ass wiggle as she gets excited.
Someone clearing his throat pulls my attention away from her shapely ass, and I see multiple eyes trying to peek at what I’ve been feasting on. Ryker makes eye contact and waves for me to move so he can appreciate the view. Smirking, I move, blocking his view. I snicker as I hear the grumbles behind me, but they're short-lived as Lucifer calls for a break.
“Okay, let’s take a break and eat. After dinner, we can spend some time in the library looking for information about the portals. We’ll start back up tomorrow morning.” With a clap to finalize his point, he heads out for the dining room.
Rez leans into me and I wrap my arm around her, pulling her into my side.
“What’s wrong?” I ask as we follow everyone out of the room.
“I’m a little disappointed that I don’t have a S.I.N. box,” she pouts, and I chuckle at her words.
“Oh believe me, Rezzi-bear, you definitely have a box that’s full of sin. I bet it’s hot, wet, and tight. Fuuuck,” I hiss and adjust myself.
Rez glances down at my crotch before her heated gaze returns to me. Instead of giggling at me, like I expected, she bites her bottom lip and blushes.
‘Cat got your tongue?’ I ask, smirking down at her.
‘Don’t you wish?’ Her eyes smile back with mirth.
‘Well, this cat wants something other than your tongue,’ I admit as we walk into the dining room.
‘Later,’ she promises as she sits down.
My eyes roll back in my head as I moan internally. ‘Really? You’re gonna leave me hanging?’ I pout, and she giggles next to me before Levi grabs her attention.
We quickly devour our food. Training will do that to you. Soon Lilith leads us back to the library. Rez skips to the front of the group and starts asking Lilith all sorts of questions about the library, and to my shock, Ryker joins in the conversation.
“Since when did he know how to read?” I grumble, and Knots chuckles next to me. “What?” I question, giving him the stink eye. I haven’t forgotten the time he locked me up after the whole Familiars class incident. He wouldn’t let me out to find my Rezzi. I really should have peed on him when I had a chance. I could always do it tonight when he’s passed out. Yep, that sounds like a good plan. Hmm. Then again, we did work pretty well together the night I was taken. Double hmm. You’re lucky… Door Knob!
“It’s just funny. That’s all,” The Door Knight… or Angel says.
I’m not sure how I feel about that knowledge. I think I liked him better when he was an inanimate object that could talk. At least that way I could get away from him just by walking away. I guess it doesn’t really surprise me that the untouchable Door Knight would fall for my Rezzi-bear. She’s delicious, and no one can resist her wiles if she turns her sights onto you. He’s at least proven his worth, unlike the guys she’s dated in the past. As much as I hate it, it’s her life and her choice to pick the men she wants to shack up with… and the “real boy” isn’t too bad. But there’s no way in Hell I’m telling him that to his face.
“Okay, Pinocchio, wanna share with the class?”
Zeke snorts and Knox lets out a boisterous laugh while Knots just glares back at me.
“Ryker reads more than anyone here—well, besides me,” Levi says. He reaches up for his tie and bristles when he notices he’s still in workout clothes.
“Aww, does poor stick up the butt feel uncomfortable without his suit?” I tease. The only sign of discomfort I get from the Mage is his jaw clenching and hand flexing.
Suddenly pressure surrounds my feet, making me trip. Even with my fast reflexes, I’m not able to catch myself before I land face-first onto the marble floor.
