“If they are coming for the boy, this ain’t the best way. What if they kill him?” Anson says.

“I think it’s a matter of if I can’t have you, no one can,” Mom says as she shoots, taking out two of the men approaching the house. True looks like the black version of Tomb Raider, shooting with both guns, and Parker isn’t far behind.

“There are too many!” someone yells right before a loud whistle sounds out seconds before there is an explosion.

“Who was that?”

“Most likely Emerson, she is pissed about Liam.”

“I can’t say I blame her.”

“I needed target practice, but this shit is getting old,” True says, taking out another four men.

“More are getting behind us!” Eliza says.

“Hey, Asher, once we make it out of this, hurry up and get those tunnels done,” DJ says.

“That will be one of the first things on my list,” he says. More shots start coming from the back, and we shift into two teams, one to protect the front and the second to protect the back.

“Let’s finish this,” Atlas says.

“Why didn’t we make the windows bulletproof again?”

“Because we never thought anyone would be so bold and stupid to try to hit us at home,” I say.

“Guess the joke is on us,” Asher says. Suddenly the gunfire stops.

“The movement outside has stopped, but not all of them are dead,” Emerson says through the speaker.

“Maybe they are waiting on reinforcements,” Jabarri says.

“Check-in!” DJ says, and everyone sounds off safe.

“Aryan,” Brooklyn’s voice gets my attention immediately.

“I think my water broke,” Brooklyn says, standing there holding her stomach. Damn, as if this shit is crazy enough already. Aryan looks like he is going to faint. He’s white as a sheet, and that’s saying a lot.

“Whatever we are going to do, we better do it now. It is not going to remain quiet for long,” Joseph says, and as if he conjured it the gunfire opens up.

“Aryan, get her out of here! Emerson is going to cover your exit, and Lennox is sending the medi-copter. Take her and go,” Josh says.

“Come on. We will get you to the backfield,” True and Atlas say, ready to escort us out.

“Can you walk, baby?” He asks her, and I can’t imagine the absolute terror he is feeling right now.

“To protect my child, hell yeah!” she says, reloading her gun and stuffing a few clips in her bra before making her way to the back of the house.

“Now, Emerson,” DJ says, and several explosions go off, and we head out the back as quickly and quietly as possible. We make it a good distance without issue, but just as I think we may make it, gunfire opens up.

“You guys are almost clear. We’ll hold them off,” Atlas says as he and True move back-to-back, arms raised together, shooting. They shoot, turn, and shoot some more in perfect unison. They are one of the deadliest couples I have ever known and I hope Jabarri and I get to be as deadly together.

Jabarri and I dance the waltz as we switch from back-to-back, side to side, making our way across the room until Jabarri’s back hits the wall and my back hits his chest as we continue to unload clips. Jabarri releases his empty clip, and I catch it, pulling a fresh clip out and slamming it into his gun, and get back to shooting.

Eliza just did some type of move where she practically ran up the guy’s chest before landing on his shoulder, wrapping her legs around his neck, causing him to flip and snap his neck. And that is why she is former secret service. Finally, we hear the familiar sounds of sirens as we kill the last few left in the house. We look like hell, and the main section of the house looks like a war zone, but no one is seriously hurt, and the threat has been eliminated.

“Aryan, Brooklyn, the baby?” Jaasiel asks.

“Both are fine and should be at the hospital by now. Lennox has them. I am heading to the hospital as soon as we clear this up,” Aryan informs us.
