"Hey man, you got this?"

He throws his hands up and shoots me a wink. I wave back and throw my leg over the bike before I help Charlie climb on. She hugs me tight all the way home - not that it takes us very long to get there. By the time we hit the porch both of us are taking off more than our helmets. Somehow, we make it to the back deck and our favorite lounge chair. I'm thinking of having the fucker dipped in bronze to preserve it for all eternity.

I pull her down on top of me and stare up at her. She's haloed by the light of the moon. All I can smell is the salt of the ocean behind us and the scent of the woman I love. It's perfect. I work her jeans open and help her take them off. I slide into her with very little resistance, the fit perfect. She was made for me.

"You know I love you right?"

Her eyes grow bigger, before a smile slowly works its way across her face. "Of course I do."

"I just want to tell you, to promise you, that I'm going to love you forever and always. Just like that first man on this island loved his bride." I slowly move in and out of her. All while telling her what is in my heart. I want her to understand how I feel about her. "And I want to make a promise to you that wherever you are, wherever you want to go, I'll follow."

She takes my face between her hands and bends close to kiss me. "You're my world. I love you so much. I feel the same way. I'd follow you anywhere too."

We seal our promise with a kiss as I make love to the woman I love. This night, this life, couldn't be more perfect and it's all because of this tiny little artist who came and stole my heart right out from under me. Thank God for some thefts.
