I can't help but smile, as Julie gives me a hug as the crew gets set up.

"You vetted everything?"

"You have no idea what my team and I dug up. Just give me a few minutes and the whole world is going to know." She flashes me a wink and I feel a sense of relief I've been after for most of my life.

"You can't broadcast here," the officer says.

"We're on the sidewalk, not the station property."

The officer mumbles something under his breath and Julie starts her countdown.

"In 3...2...1," she begins.

Standing back I just cross my arms, hugging myself silently as my new journalist friend starts to drop the bombshell expose that's going to get my mother some of the justice she's deserved. I feel her eyes up there in the sky looking down at me.

I look up, and without interrupting the broadcast I mouth, "We did it, Mom. For you."
