Fucking finally. “Where are you taking Crystal?”

“That little Italian place on Kings, and that’s all I’ll share.” He smirks. “You?”

“Motherfuck,” I hiss out from clenched teeth. I’m done. Jesus Christ, she won.

“Don’t know that...fuck.”

“Yeah.” Already, I am heading her way. She’s a vision. Stunning.

Mila is wearing a short, strapless summer dress in a soft floral print. The top crisscrosses over her chest and then flairs out below her bustline. It’s sweet meets vixen. Hot as fuck.

Her legs are long, and the tall wedges she’s wearing make my mouth water; their subtle tan color almost matches her skin tone. Those raven locks are tousled in just the way that makes you think of great sex while her lips are a succulent red.

This woman is my walking wet dream.

“Hi,” she whispers, a subtle blush on her cheeks. It’s when we’re face to face that I notice her lack of makeup. There’s only a hint of sparkle on her eyelids, kohl liner, and lipstick. None of that other shit that women cake on to feel beautiful. She’s perfect, and I’m tongue-tied. “You okay, Nick?”

“Y-yeah...” I clear my throat, eyes perusing her lithe form. “Better than, to be honest.”

“Okay.”

Her smile is wide as I wave a finger in the air, asking her to twirl for me. “Please.”

“Seriously?” she asks, amusement shining in her eyes. At my nod, Mila giggles. “Fine.”

Jesus. Christ.

She’s simply perfection from every angle.

“Stunning.” Taking a step closer, I reach up and twirl a piece of her hair around my finger. “It’s as if you were designed specifically for me. Made by God using my dreams.”

“I don’t know what to say.”

“Don’t say anything at all.” Releasing her hair, I offer my arm for her to take. “Come on. Let me wine and dine you.”

“Shouldn’t we wait for Crissy and Evan? I just saw them walk that way?” She’s pointing in the general direction of the exit.

“They’re not coming with us.”

Those gorgeous greys widen at my words, and her chest expands with a sharp inhale. “What’re you talking about?”

“I want you all to myself, Mila. No distractions.” Taking the few steps between us, I cup her face and tilt it up, breathing her in for a second or two before pressing my lips to hers. The kiss is chaste, appropriate for our surroundings, but underneath the tender touch is a simmering inferno of want that scorches my veins. Every part of me feels her. Throbs for her. “You’re killing me, beautiful.” Another peck before I press my forehead to hers, eyes locked. “Let me take you back to my home and feed you…spend the night spoiling you a tiny bit. I’m a fantastic cook and want nothing more than to make this first of many dates special. Spend some time with you while I can.”

“You had this all planned out, didn’t you?” No anger or fear. Mila is trying hard to fight back her smile, but the tremble in her lips gives her away.

“Maybe.” I shrug and steal another quick kiss.

“What if I said no?”

“You wouldn’t.”

“Cocky much?”

“Not really.” Releasing her face, I grab her hand and tuck it into the crook of my arm as I turn to lead her out of the hotel. She chuckles but doesn’t stop me. We make it outside and into my car without a word, and it isn’t until I’m at the red light down the road that I speak again. “I have made-from-scratch tacos Al Pastor, tequila or white wine, and a back terrace that—”

“You had me at tacos, Nick. Nothing else needs to be said.”

“You can cook for me any time,” Mila moans out, sitting back while taking the last sip of wine. “Seriously, Nick. Best tacos I’ve ever had.”
