“You really meantit when you said you were nearby,” I laughed as I hugged Snow.

“I know I should have called earlier, but I wasn’t even sure what I was doing until I got to town and realized where I was at.”

I grabbed her luggage and together we headed toward her cottage located in The President’s Suites section of the resort. The Suite cottages were not far from the main building and just a short jaunt to where our cottages were located.

When we stepped up to the door, she looked at me. “There must be some kind of mistake—”

“What do you mean?”

“I figured I’d have a cottage like last time, small and cozy.”

“Nah, you’ve been upgraded,” I said with a wink as I attached the bracelet to her arm. She used it to open the door and stepped inside with an audible gasp.

“Holy cannoli,” she said. “This is all for me?”

She turned to look at me in the doorway. “Yes, all for you.”

“But I don’t need this much space!”

“If we keep bothering you with visits, you will,” I said with a grin. “Besides, I’m sure it’ll be nice to spread out. There’s an office right off the living area already set up for you.”

She walked through the cottage before calling out to me, “Sean, you can come inside, you know.”

“I didn’t want to intrude,” I said as I stepped through the door.

I found her walking up the spiral staircase. “I don’t think you can legally call these cottages; this is more like a full-fledged house,” she said. “Bigger than any house I’ve lived in.”

“So you like it, I presume?”

“Like it? That’s an understatement. I love it! You might never get rid of me.”

“Well I don’t see that as a bad thing. I’m sure we’d all love to have you stay as long as you’d like.”

I followed her upstairs, where there were two large bedrooms, both with their own master baths. One had a view of the private patio with a hot tub and small pool, the other looked out over the mountain valley. She couldn’t go wrong with either; I’d made sure they were both comfortable and cozy.

She was in the bedroom overlooking the mountains, standing at the window.

“I haven’t told the others you were coming, I didn’t have a chance.”

She glanced over at me. “Oh good, so I can surprise them then.”

“A very pleasant surprise, I’m sure,” I said as I stepped up beside her. “Have you eaten yet? I had room service deliver some food just in case, it’s set up in the dining area downstairs.”

“I’m starving actually,” she said with a laugh. “I haven’t eaten since lunch, and well, I threw most of that up after I got fired.”

A look flashed across her face and she stared back out the window, her smile wavering. There was something there, something she wasn’t telling me.

“Well there’s filet mignon, mashed potatoes, and bacon-wrapped asparagus downstairs...”

I hadn’t even finished my sentence before she was already out the door, heading to the staircase.

“Seriously,” she called back to me, “You guys spoil me.”

“You deserve it, princess,” I responded. “You deserve it.”
