Amon took her hand and led her inside to the art studio. “Would you like to have a canvas too?”

She sprawled out on the couch and eagerly looked up at him. “No. I like watching you.”

Rayen took the opportunity to lay between her legs and rest his head on her thigh like a puppy.

Amon nodded and organized his paints. This would be a very special painting, so he chose the biggest canvas he had. With Gwendoline’s eyes on him, he started adding the first layer of paint. He listened to her, Rayen, and Silas talk, though his mind was embedded into the image he was trying to bring to life.

At some point, Gwendoline got up to get lunch and when she returned, she wrapped her arms around his waist. She rubbed her cheek against his spine, her heart fluttering in her chest.

“It’s beautiful,” she whispered.

Her voice was full of awe, which made his skin tingle all over. He set the brush aside and turned to her. She rested her chin on him and looked up with a gentle, loving expression. How had he gotten so lucky? Stroking his fingertips over her nose, he smiled down at her.

“I wanted to go for a swim. Do you want to take a little break too?”

“I would love to.”

She took her hand and walked him outside. She looked gorgeous in her bikini, though he wouldn’t have minded if she’d gone naked. Silas and Rayen were already in the water. One of them had brought out a few water toys, which made Gwendoline’s eyes widen in excitement. He followed her into the water and watched as she dove beneath a wave.

Gwendoline

They spent all afternoon together in the water. While she drifted on the floaties and paddle boarded, Silas and Rayen tried to beat each other at all kinds of games. It all started when Silas announced that he was a better swimmer and continued when Rayen declared he was the fastest runner.

Gwen enjoyed watching them mess with each other, though most of the time their actions were too fast for her to follow. Amon made sure she didn’t float away into the ocean or wound up stranded back on the beach.

“Will I be able to see what they are doing after I turn?”

“You will, but you might need a few days or even weeks to adjust to all the new feelings. Your body will be stronger, your mind much sharper. However, you have to learn to use those gifts before you can fully utilize them.”

She quickly ate her snack and emptied the water bottle that Amon had brought her before slipping into the water again. In the blink of an eye Amon had taken her leftovers to the table on the porch and reappeared next to her.

Wrapping her arm around his waist, she looked around to see where her other two men were. As if they’d felt her searching for them, they emerged from the water about ten feet in front of her. Rayen smiled at her, his eyes beaming, but as he came closer, they turned to worry.

“You look tired, little bird.”

“I think it’s the sun.”

Amon leaned down and kissed her hair. “Let’s get you inside then.”

“Can I watch you finish the painting with dinner?”

“As you wish.”

As usual, Rayen helped her cook dinner. Though she’d settled in with them, it still felt surreal in some moments. It felt good to have left the loneliness behind and to have not just one, but three people in her life she could rely on.

With her dinner in hand, she settled into the couch again and watched Amon complete the painting of her sitting with Marianna. Just like with the picture he’d painted of her and Evangeline, her heart melted at the sight of the scene in front of her. The relationship between herself and Amon had come so far in so little time, that she couldn’t help but be astonished.

With her head in Silas’s lap and Rayen massaging her feet, she dozed off, dreaming about her conversation with Marianna. It felt as if they were old friends bonding over their love to the same man. She only awoke when someone picked her up and rolled her onto their chest.

When she opened her eyes, she saw Rayen smile down at her. “Let’s get you all tucked into bed, shall we?”

“Will we still cuddle even if I don’t need sleep anymore?”

“Of course, little bird.”
