“I would be lying if I said it doesn’t concern me a little, but what about people calling you Psycho?”

I dare to take a step closer and breathe a sigh of relief when she doesn’t move away.

“You’re the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen.”

“You didn’t answer my question,” she points out.

“All I’ll say is that sometimes, I have to be a certain someone, but it’s not all I am, or ever would be with you.”

“You’re making me nervous again.”

I can live with that, as long as she’s not pushing me away.

“I want to kiss you, but I won’t tonight. Don’t be afraid or nervous. Don’t let what happened put you off.”

“You want to kiss me?”

Her self-doubt wounds me. Who in their right mind wouldn’t want to kiss her?

“So fucking bad, it’s unreal.” I take a step back. “I’ll see you soon.”

Walking away from Evie Hemingway is becoming the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do.

I drive away, craving the taste of her on my lips, while imagining how the prospects are going to pay for tonight’s transgression.

Pulling up to the club, the prospect, Twisted, opens the gate for me and I drive through.

I park next to my bike and jump out, immediately scanning the grounds for Killa and Havoc, who should’ve come here after I ordered them back. If not, it’ll just be another infraction, and it won’t end well for them.

Opening the boot, I grab my cut and slide it on over my shoulders. Making my way inside the clubhouse, my frustration grows when I don’t find them there, either.

“You good, brother?” Riot hollers from where he sits at the bar with Chaos.

“Where’s Killa and Havoc?”

“Out back. Why?”

Ignoring him, I cross the bar and push open the back door, and there they are, sitting around the fire pit, each with a beer in their hand. Havoc notices me first and taps Killa’s knee to warn him that I’m coming.

“Psycho, we’re sorry about earlier—”

Cutting Havoc off with a glare, I focus on Killa. Wrapping my hand around his throat, I get within an inch of his face.

“If you ever fuck my night up again, you won’t even see me coming. Do you understand?”

“Yes.”

His cockiness is gone, and it’s what saves him.

“You’ve got a long fucking way to go before you get my vote,” I warn, shoving him back. “I suggest you don’t find yourselves in my path again.”

Turning around, I find Riot looming in the doorway, watching me carefully.

“What the fuck was that about?” he asks.

“They fucked up my night. They’re lucky I haven’t killed them.”

“Why haven’t you?”
