“It doesn’t matter if he doesn’t want to see me,” I point out.

“My brother is the deadliest man I know. Hell, I didn’t even think he could feel love. But since he met you, he’s proven he does. He thinks he’s doing the right thing by staying away. If you love him, Evie, tell him straight up that he’s your man, and go bring that burly bastard home with you.”

“I don’t think anyone tells him what to do.”

“You know what I think? What I believe?”

Shrugging, I wait for him to tell me.

“I believe you’re the only person walking this earth who can.”

Olivia climbs out of the car, leaving the door open.

“Go get him back, babe. I’ll watch Thomas. Take all the time you need. I won’t let him out of my sight.”

She gives me a quick hug, then kisses Chaos before darting into the house and closing the door.

I guess I’m going to see Louis.

I climb into the passenger seat as Chaos makes himself comfortable behind the wheel.

“Did he lose his phone?” I ask.

“He broke it. I won’t lie and say he sat on it. He crushed the fucking thing with his bare hands.”

I feel myself getting too hot. I shove my jacket sleeves up, and Chaos notices my new ink.

“A motorcycle?”

“It’s a coverup. It seemed fitting,” is all I tell him.

It doesn’t take long to drive across town, and as we approach the club gates, anxiety nearly cripples me.

“What am I walking into?” I ask as he parks inside the compound.

He looks at me with hope in his eyes. “The rest of your life, I pray.”

He doesn’t strike me as the praying type, but I’m not going to question it. Crossing my arms over my chest, I follow Chaos inside the club, spotting Louis immediately. He’s sitting alone, with everyone seeming to give him a wide berth. He doesn’t look up from his beer, but I can feel his pain from here, because it matches my own. Seeing him again is brutal.

“I hear you’re being a pain in everyone’s arse,” I huff, and his head snaps up.

He has heavy bags under his eyes, and bruises along his jaw and at the corner of his left eye.

“Evie? What are you doing here?”

“Chaos came by my house because he’s worried about you. And now that I’m here, I am too.”

He leans around me and glares at his president.

“You were the one who told me to leave, so why act like it was the other way around?”

His eyes drink me in and settle on my wrist. “You got his name covered up?”

“I did. Today.”

He rises from his seat and murmurs, “Follow me.”

He takes me up to the same room he took me to before I got the call from the school to say Thomas was missing. I see his bag perched on the chair in the corner of the room, and it clicks that this is where he sleeps when he stays here.
