“You didn’t hire a bunch of people to buy my clothes, did you?” I asked before taking a bite of my taco.

He rolled his eyes. “You’re joking, right?”

“I’m serious.”

“Of course not,” he said. “I wouldn’t do that to you. Besides, you don’t need me to. There was a market for your designs and you hit it.”

I beamed, relief coiling through me. “I couldn’t have done any of this without you,” I said. “The tacos are a poor thank you, but it’s a start.”

“Don’t do that,” he said, finishing off a taco and diving in for the next. “This is all you. I may have hooked you up with a marketer, but it was your designs that sold out. Your clothes. Your line. Nothing else.”

Happiness fluttered through me so much I swore I could fly right off this balcony and into the sky if he asked me to.

We ate and chatted about his day in something that felt utterly domestic but totally natural and fun at the same time. I could probably do this forever and never get tired of it.

After we finished eating, I cleaned up our plates while Brad grabbed a bottle of champagne and popped the cork, pouring us two glasses to celebrate. We took them back out to the balcony, settling into our chairs with the bottle between us on the table. The sun had fully set, leaving the sky an inky midnight with sparkling stars scattered across it. The ocean waves crashed below us, the sound the perfect backdrop to one hell of a perfect day.

“To your success,” Brad said, clinking his glass against mine.

“To ours,” I said before we both took a sip. The liquid was crisp and fresh on my tongue, the bubbles going straight to my head.

“I hope they choose me,” he said, referring to his portion of the success I mentioned. “But as much as I hate to admit it, Craig has some viable assets to offer them. I feel like it’s a coin toss.”

I furrowed my brow. “I don’t see it. He’s so…pushy.”

Brad shrugged. “Not up to me,” he said. “I’ve done pretty much all I can.”

“Then that’s all that matters,” I said, setting down my glass. “I would definitely choose you.”

“I don’t believe you,” he said, his tone playful.

I gaped at him. “Why not?”

He shrugged, putting on a faux pout. “Because you’re all the way over there and I’m all the way over here.”

A laugh tore from my lips and I shook my head as I pointed to the table between us. “This is like two feet wide.”

“Facts are facts.”

I rolled my eyes. “You’re a big baby,” I said, getting up and crossing the very small distance between us. “This better?”

“Nope,” he said, his hands trailing up my thighs beneath my skirt as I stood before him.

“What would be better?” I asked, my pulse thrumming in my veins.

“This,” he said, and tugged me forward until I straddled his lap, bringing us chest to chest and face to face.

I wrapped my arms around his neck. “This close enough?”

He slid his hands beneath my skirt, massaging my thighs in a savoring way that sent warm chills across my skin. “No,” he said, brushing his lips over mine.

I laughed again, kissing him back. “I don’t think we could be any closer.”

“Oh, we could.”

“How so?”

“You could let me fuck you right here on this balcony, where anyone might see.”

A thrill of heat shot right through me, an ache pulsing between my thighs.

“That would be close enough?” I asked, my voice a little breathless.

“Only one way to find out,” he said, his eyes full of heat and challenge and damn did it do things to my body.

“I guess it would be easy,” I said, heat flushing my cheeks. He tilted his head, and I reached for his hand, guiding it higher beneath my skirt.

“Fucking hell, baby,” he said, his fingers meeting my bare heat. “You’re a little vixen, aren’t you? Having dinner with me this whole time and never telling me you had nothing beneath this skirt.”

I grinned. “I figured you’d find out sooner or later.”

“It’s later,” he said, shifting beneath me to unzip his pants.

In a few moves, he was free of the restraints, his hard cock teasing me beneath my skirt, which still covered everything. It was exhilarating, feeling so intimate while also being completely exposed. I very quickly realized I loved it, craved it, and couldn’t be happier that Brad was so into it too. It was like we were matched on every single level.

He slid an arm around my lower back, urging me forward. “Fuck,” he groaned. “You’re so slick.”

I shivered as I slid over his hard length, the heat and pressure making me come alive with need.

“I missed you all day,” I said, capturing his lips with mine. I kissed him hard, rocking against him without taking him fully inside me. I was having too much fun with the tease. “It was so hard not to text you with the news.”
