If I'm being honest with myself, I've mainly seen Sofia as someone preventing me from getting to know Roland better. I need to stop thinking like that.

"I think I'm going to get some rest too," Damien says I enter the living room. "I slept on the plane, but it wasn't eight hours."

"Me too," I say. We left New York late last night and arrived in Frankfurt very early this morning. The flight isn't long enough for a full night's sleep. "Carmen should be out for two hours."

"Well, I share a room with her, so I’ll know when she wakes up," Damien says with a grin.

"Good point. I was actually worried she'd wake up be disoriented."

We all have a nap and I only awake when Damien knocks on my door. "Mads, Carmen is awake. I think she wants to pee and stuff, so you have to help her. Then we're off to the museum, right?"

"Right," I say, sitting up, feeling disorientated myself. I yawn, stretch and tumble out of bed. We've planned a trip to the Explora Children's Museum, where we are to meet Roland. I remind myself to check my phone for any texts from him before we head out.

An hour later we find ourselves in a cab on our way to the museum. Erin tagged along with us.

As we approach the entrance, I spot Roland waiting for us, a warm smile on his lips. The sight of him–silver fox that he is–stirs something in me, a combination of admiration and desire that I can't quite shake. Who am I kidding? I'm not even trying to shake it. Instead, I remember what he did to me the last time he saw me naked...

"Hey, guys," he greets us, his deep voice resonating through my core. "Ready for some educational fun?"

"Absolutely!" Damien chimes in while Carmen nods enthusiastically. I just smile, as I'm busy undressing Roland with my eyes, which, of course, is totally inappropriate, but I allow myself one minute of fun before I snap out of it.

"Happy you finished your meeting in time," I say, managing to keep my composure as we head inside the museum together. I'm determined to focus on the outing and enjoy this time with the children, but the presence of their enigmatic father only adds to the thrill of our adventure.

Two hours and some happy exploring later, the evening sun casts a warm glow over the restaurant's terrace as we settle into our seats, laughter bubbling from Carmen and Damien as they nudge each other playfully. The atmosphere is electric, infused with the energy of our adventurous day.

"Look at this view," Roland says, his eyes alight with appreciation as he gazes out at the city skyline. I agree–Frankfurt looks stunning beneath the setting sun, bathed in hues of gold and orange.

"All right, kiddos, what do you feel like eating?" I ask, focusing on the menu to distract myself from Roland's magnetic presence.

"Ooh, spaghetti carbonara!" Damien exclaims, his excitement made me smile.

"Yum! And you, Carmen?"

She looks at Roland. He's just been reading the children's menu to her.

"Did you want the spaghetti too? Or perhaps the schnitzel? That's some meat with french fries."

"Fries!" Carmen exclaims happily and we all laugh.

As we order our meals, I can't help but steal glances at Roland. The way his strong jaw clenches when he's deep in thought, or how his silver-streaked hair catches the light–I find myself drawn to him like a moth to a flame, my desire for him simmering just below the surface.

Today, however, it seems to be simmering on the surface, not below it. After sitting next to him and having a moment on the plane all I seem to be able to think about is him.

"Are you enjoying Germany so far, Maddie?" Roland asks, catching me off guard.

"Um, oh yes! It's been incredible," I stammer, trying to regain my composure. "It's nice to be in new surroundings and just relax. No need to worry about the everyday stuff."

"Wait until you see more of it," he promises, a sly grin playing on his lips. "I've got some surprises planned."

"Surprises?" Damien perks up, intrigued.

"Ah, not yet," Roland teases, winking at the kids. "You'll have to be patient."

Our conversation flows easily throughout dinner, filled with laughter and playful banter. Carmen is tired and I see Roland noticing.

"All right," Roland announces, "it's getting late. Time to head back to the hotel."

As we make our way back to the hotel, I can't shake the feeling that something is about to change–my relationship with Roland, my role as their nanny, or maybe even the dynamics between all of us. But for now, I simply enjoy the moment, relishing the warmth of the evening and the company of those I've come to care so deeply for.
