The silence was marred by a loud explosion. I nearly jumped out of my skin.
“It’s okay. That’s just Garrett blowing up the android.”
“How do you know?”
“I know the sound of a grenade when I hear one.
“Oh.”
The backdoor opened upstairs and footsteps sounded above our head. Then the floor door opened.
“Maybe we should have an orgy?” I suggested.
He snorted. “Yeah, that’s not happening.”
“Why not?”
Like Bo, Huck was strong as well. He was able to carry me with one hand.
“Am I not attractive? You are aroused. I can feel it.”
Huck used his free hand to retrieve the blanket from the floor, which he then draped over me. “Because virtual reality is nothing like real life.”
“I understand there are more body fluids,” I reasoned. “But the sensations should be the same.” When he ascended the stairs without comment, I added, “And sexual health is important. Don’t you have sex regularly?”
“Um, what’s happening?” Garrett asked as we passed him.
“Nothing,” Huck grumbled. He laid me on the bed I had woken up in, then tucked the blanket around me.
“Your brother doesn’t want to have sex with me.”
“I’m sorry, say what?” Garret responded, obviously shocked.
“I know, right?” I concurred, sitting up in bed. “I’m taken aback too! He’s obviously hard. I suggested we should get together, have an org—”
“Acedia,” Huck growled. “Take a nap. We can talk about this later.”
I held out a hand. “I didn’t mean to upset you. I just thought sex together would be a fun way to get to know each other.”
Garret burst out laughing. “What the actual fuck?”
“Bo!” Huck called loudly over his shoulder. “Please get in here and handle this!”
Strangely, my stomach flipped-flopped when my rescuer came in from outside. “What is it?” the apparent eldest asked. “I’m finishing up laundry.”
The younger brother got on his feet. “You brought her here. You explain it to her. I need to go downstairs and clean up.”
Bo held out his hands as Huck stomped off. “Explain what?”
“Acedia wants to have sex, but Huck turned her down,” Garrett explained. “Now she’s insulted.”
I nodded. “I kinda am.”
“Acedia, what’s going on? Start from the beginning.”
“Well, I got sick downstairs. Vomited. So Huck was holding me. It made me feel good, so I suggested that we all have an orgy because they’re fun, and it would be nice to get to know each other better. But Huck wasn’t keen on the idea.”
Garrett laughed harder. “I was initially mad you brought her here, but now I’m glad you did. Things haven’t been this exciting in a long time.”
