When he came back, I lifted my arms so he could put the garment on me. He helped me from the bed. While I put my flats on, he grabbed a rifle.

“You’re going with me?”

“Of course,” Bo replied.

“Oh.”

“I’m going to go with you as well,” Garrett said. “I don’t like what happened earlier.”

Bo simply nodded and retrieved a lantern for himself and his brother.

“Well, fuck, I guess I will go too. Family trip.”

“That’s not necessary,” I assured.

But Huck wasn’t hearing that. He armed himself and joined us at the back door. “Maybe not, but we all might as well go.”

Lord, just kill me.

Like a prisoner, I followed the oldest brother out of the cabin while the middle and younger brought up the rear. This was ridiculous.

We followed a worn path for what felt like a hundred feet or more into the darkness. Even with two armed men, I was a nervous wreck. I felt like I was being watched from a distance. But surely that was my imagination.

When we arrived at the wood structure, Bo opened the door, and I balked. It looked clean enough in the lamp light, but…

“You know what? I’m okay,” I said. “I don’t have to go anymore.”

“Would you like me to go in there with you?” Bo asked.

I shook my head adamantly and felt my cheeks flush with embarrassment.

“What happened to the woman who asked me to join her in an orgy earlier today?” Huck teased.

“Yeah.” Garrett snorted a laugh. “Where did she go?”

“This is different,” I complained. “That is just sex. This is bodily functions.”

The two younger brothers guffawed.

“What?” I squeaked. “What’s funny about that.”

“Leave the door open then,” Bo said. “Just go.”

I shook my head.

“Acedia. If you can’t even pee in front of us, then you will never be able to have sex with us,” Bo reasoned. “Perhaps your sexual experience isn’t as solid as you think it is.”

Grrr. “What? So if I can pee in front of you, we all can have sex later tonight?”

Garrett covered his face as he wheezed his hilarity. “I can’t. I just can’t. She’s too innocent,” he exclaimed.

Determined to prove a point, I snatched the lantern from Bo’s hand and went inside the weird structure that was essentially a bench with a hole in it. There was no running water to clean the area when you were done doing your business. So eww.

I looked around. I saw the pail he talked about earlier, but…

“What do you…how do you…”

“There’s moss in there.”
