“Spoiled yet?”
My heart danced with joy from his thoughtfulness. “Beyond.”
Pressing a kiss to my forehead, he said, “Then I’m doing my job well.”
“How many more surprises are there?”
“None.” He grinned.
“Liar.” We burst into laughter, strolling out to the deck, and saw that most of the guests had arrived.
“It’s beautiful.”
Adelina had tables and chairs lined up with us facing each other over candlelight. There was also a large sign on the back of the wall with our names and congratulations. Colors red and white covered the table and chairs, and napkins with place cards and inscription of different quotes on the plates.
“I should get a picture while everyone is standing.”
“We have a photographer; you relax and enjoy yourself.”
“Is that a demand?”
“Yes.”
“Have I told you how much I like you?”
He blushed, turned his head, and I tittered at making the big bad mobster blush.
“I have to give a toast for the happy couple.” Adelina raised her glass.
Taking a champagne from the waiter, I held it up in the sky.
“Nyla, each of my daughters-in-law have come to me in a special way, and you are no exception,” Adelina said, and Vincenzo rolled his eyes.
“Thank you, Adelina.”
“I know my son, and he’s probably embarrassed for being put on the spot, but he chose well, and he’s in good hands.” Adelina took a sip of her drink, and I gulped mine down.
Rena appeared with Mckayla and Savio. “Ladies, are you enjoying yourselves?”
“We are, and you look amazing, Nyla.” Rena extended arm out for a hug.
“Adelina picked it out.”
“She has taste because the villa is gorgeous.” Mckayla smiled, holding Savio’s hand. Vincenzo and Savio went over to their brothers, talking in a huddle.
“Did you love the surprise at the house?”
I motioned between them. “You two knew?”
Rena clapped her hands together. “He called us to help.”
“Honestly, Vincenzo has blown my mind, unlike any guy I’ve ever dated.”
“You love him. I can tell.” Mckayla pulled my cards.
Everything within me knew it was right to be with him. “I do.”
“Happy for you and him, after the situation with your uncle.”
