My assistant poked her head in the door. “Mr. Calabresi, you have a call on line three.” Since being back, our lives have gotten into a routine and I’ve made it a priority to be home for us to spend time together at least three times out of the week.

“Thanks.”

Elio treaded along to the door. “Let me get out of here, I need to meet Cora at her clinic.”

“Tell her I said hi.”

Elio chucked his chin up goodbye.

“This is Vincenzo.”

Nyla purred into the phone, “Hello, Mr. Calabresi.” Her sultry voice reminded me of our late-night swim.

“Mrs. Calabresi, what can I do for you?”

“I was checking to see if you’re leaving work early today.”

I answered, “I am.”

“Great, I have a surprise for you.”

“I hate surprises.”

Nyla grunted. “Vincenzo, don’t start.”

“All I need is you.”

“I’m happy about that, but you will get a surprise,” she divulged.

“Sounds like you’ve been talking to Rena.”

Snickering at my response, Nyla told me she loved me and hung up.

I stood up, I walked out of my office and checked the main casino floor to see how business was doing.

A few of my staff greeted with me waves. “Hello, Mr. Calabresi.”

“How are things looking down here?”

“Great sir. Traffic has picked up,” the man at the counter service answered.

“Any problems?”

“No sir, the new system is running smoothly,” she proclaimed.

We had installed back-up alarms and placed codes on the doors inside that changed every thirty seconds. Plus, we had a failsafe that I was notified of at all times on my phone.

“Keep me updated if anything changes.” I looked around, seeing the guests, laughing and enjoying the slot machines.

After strolling out of the building to see Carter waiting, I jumped in and shut the door.

“Where to next, Mr. Calabresi?”

“Warehouse.”

Forty minutes later, the guards pulled the door open for me to enter. I saw each member sitting and waiting, as Savio stood in the front.

“About time you arrived,” Renato grumbled and I flipped him off.
