“What’s that supposed to mean?” I sniped.

“Savio has no clue. You’ve put yourself into more of the cartel business than you should. Your role is corporate life. Let me do the real work.” Renato pushed his chair out of the way, stalking from the room.

“Give him a little time, he’s frustrated,” Sante expressed.

“No reason to take it out on the family,” my father growled, slamming his hand down on the table.

After turning off the video, I was left with Savio and Sante. “All right, leave him alone, so he can cool off. We need to get Cono,” Savio insisted.

“I say we check out the strip club he owns and check Gianney out.”

Sante kept his eyes on the printed photos of Gianney and Cono together. “Gianney’s going to be a problem if we can’t catch up with him.”

“Cono knows we have our next meeting tomorrow. He's going to try to make a statement,” Savio said.

“I agree, we can't let him get away with forcing our hand.”

Savio passed my coat and chuckled. “Call Renato and tell him to meet us at the location.”

“He’s an asshole.”

“He is—but truthfully, I noticed you coming around more at the meetings. I told you our father didn't want you involved in the cartel,” Savio said.

“You and your brother need to understand, I’m grown and a part of the family. I have a right to be involved.”

He stopped me before we got on the elevator. “If I felt you would not be protected, then you would not be permitted to attend family meetings. Understand that I might be looking into retiring, but I still have power, little brother.” Savio clapped me on the back, then stepped onto the elevator.

I listened to Savio and Sante giving me the same fatherly advice to give Renato some space. I ignored it all as we made it to the Sartori’s Lively Ladies Strip Club. After climbing out of the car, I shut the door, shifted my gun, and walked up to the guard.

He held up his hand to block us. “No guns,” he said.

“Were going in with our guns. Cono wouldn’t like for his family to be held back.”

“Let me check with management.”

Reaching for his hand, I pulled it behind his back and shoved him up against the wall.

“Get the fuck off me!” he yelled.

“Shut up and understand I can pop your shit out of the socket, or you can ignore us having a gun and keep your life,” I threatened, pulling it up further, he hissed.

“All right, man!” he cried out.

“Glad you understand.”

After removing my hand, he rubbed the soreness and stood off to the side, waving for us to go ahead. After stalking through the entrance, women walking around in only thongs smiled at me and my brothers.

Smoke filled the air, and women flirted with us from the DJ booth to the stage, making it known with their penetrating stares that if we wanted their company, then they’d be willing.

“You see him?”

Turning my head left to right through the crowd, I narrowed in on a crowd of men sitting in the back corner smacking on a girl's ass. A few glanced our way.

“We got company.” Sante pointed at a few standing up coming in our direction.

“Cono must have alerted them.”

“You're on the wrong side of town.” The man was tall, the leader of the pack with tattoos around his neck of Sartori family.
