“Taking you back to bed.”
She opened one eye, staring at me. “I was sleeping fine.”
“I wasn’t.”
Nyla turned her back to me. “Not my problem.”
“It is when you're not in my bed.”
I laid her flat down on the bed, kissing her on the forehead. “Go to sleep.”
She tried to get out of bed, and I pushed her back down. The tiny shorts she wore pushed up her toned thighs and had me licking my lips.
Nyla grumbled. “You can't force me to sleep in here with you.”
“As my wife, you will sleep where I am and vice versa.”
“Meaning?” she asked, crossing her arms, pushing her perky, plump breasts together.
“Either we sleep together here or in the guest bed, but I’d rather be here because the bed is firmer.”
Nyla tried to step around me, and I cupped both sides of her hip.
“Move, Vincenzo.” She moaned when I kissed her on the forehead and pulled her tight in my arms, caressing her cheek.
“I promise to keep you updated on Cono.”
“You won’t kill him?”
I pressed a kiss between her breasts. “Nyla, I can't promise you that he will live.”
“He’s wrong for lying, but Vincenzo, I still need answers.”
“If he hasn't given you anything now, then he won’t. It’s emotional blackmail at this point, and I’d rather see him dead than torturing you even further.”
Nyla nodded, dropping her arms, and fell into bed, letting me snuggle up next to her.
“Will your brothers always hate me?”
After pushing her hair from her face, I ran a hand up and down her arm. “Renato’s just agitated. It's taking longer to get Cono.”
Nyla released a strangled breath. “Renato scares me.”
“Why?”
“I know he’s married to Sonya, but if you had to, would you go behind my back and do what your brother suggests?”
“We can talk tomorrow.”
Nyla’s nostrils flared. “I need to know, Vincenzo.”
“At the end of the day, my loyalty is to you and my family.”
Turning in the bed, she faced the ceiling. “Maybe I can help you.”
“Help how?” I clasped our hands together, kissing the back of her knuckles.
“Gianney reached out to me.”
