The woman who owned his very existence. ‘Promise me you’ll never let me screw this up? If I come within a whisker of making you or our children unhappy, you make my life hell until I fix it. Promise.’
Tears filled her eyes and spilled over but the smile that bloomed on her face made his heart swell so big he was terrified it would burst. ‘I promise,’ she whispered, then held out her arms.
He walked into them willingly, placed their baby back in her arms before enfolding them close.
‘Dios mio, I love you. Both of you. So much.’
‘Yo también, mi corazón,’she whispered. Then she raised her face to his. ‘Now kiss me, my darling husband. Then take us home.’
