There was no way he had any idea what his filthy words did to me, the scintillating vibrations that refused to stop.

The way he yanked my arms over my head, intertwining our fingers together was special, as if the electricity we shared, the connection we’d built through the years was strengthening.

It was another beautiful moment where all time stopped. There were no sounds but those of our rapidly beating hearts, mine echoing in my ears. He used his hold on my hands to push up from the rocky surface, studying me intently as he fucked me. I’d always believed Maddox to be devoid of most emotions, as if the acts he’d been required to commit over the years had changed him.

I wasn’t a fool. I’d learned early on about who and what my father really was, Maddox performing some of the most heinous deeds, but the emotion I saw in the man could rival any woman.

Including me.

I remained unblinking, digging my nails into his skin as the sensations dancing through me became overwhelming. Within seconds, my body was reacting entirely different than any other rush of excitement I’d felt.

As he lowered his head, pressing his lips against my cheek and ear, his heated words and breathless whisper could easily push me into a trance.

“Come for me, my little lamb.”

His little lamb. The term was something he’d used so many years before. There was something cathartic about him using it at this moment. Or maybe it was a reminder of how forbidden our breathless moment in time truly was.

When I said nothing, his nostrils flared. “You will learn to obey me. Come for me. Now.”

Everything about his change in behavior was startling, his obsessive need something I thought only dreams were made of. And the strangest thing of all was that I wanted to obey him. The thought was crazy, so much so that the moment my toes started to cramp, actual shock tore through me. The orgasm soaring through me arrived so quickly and with so much force that it could be considered violent.

I was thrown by the lights dancing in front of my periphery of vision, the fact that my mouth was open in a perfect O but there was no sound. None. It was as if I’d floatedinto an alternate universe, incapable of speaking, remaining in suspended animation.

And nothing had every felt so exquisite in my life.

Maddox pumped deep inside, his actions becoming more savage.

Finally, it was as if the dam had broken, another raw and intense moment of rapture cutting through me like a razor-sharp knife. I could feel my blood pressure rising, my pulse skipping several beats and in the next few seconds, I was completely lost in the blissful feeling of rapture.

“Oh. Yes. Yes. Yes…”

“My beautiful baby. My little lamb.”

As his words filtered into my eardrums, I sensed he was close to releasing, every muscle in his powerful body tensing. Every action became rougher, his entire face shimmering in the moonlight as beads of sweat dripped from his brow to mine. His scent was incredible, woodsy with a hint of dark spice, and I prayed it lingered, staining my skin.

Maybe I was a silly girl, but I didn’t want to take a shower, remaining with his seed filling my womb.

A series of growls cascaded from his throat seconds before he erupted deep inside.

I never believed this would happen.

I’d done everything I could to stop imagining it.

I’d wanted so badly to hate him for the way he’d treated me.

For the most part, I’d been successful.

Until he’d walked into that room with roses in his hands. Then all had been lost. But now, as he lifted his head, the light that had burned so brightly only seconds before dimmed. He’d all but shut down and shut me out.

I didn’t need for him to tell me this could never happen again. I knew it in my heart and soul.

And that was the most crushing feeling I’d ever experienced.

As soon as he opened his mouth to speak, I placed my fingers across his lips. “Don’t ruin it. Please. That’s all I ask.”

Before he had a chance to respond, a sickening feeling, a gut instinct ripped at my mind. The moment I opened my eyes wide, he sensed something was wrong.

Then all hell broke loose as the sound of gunfire shattered the magical spell.
