“Don’t you remember what I said earlier?” she asked, peeking at me.

I shook my head. “Uh, no. Want to clue me in on the secret?”

“I told you. Dad’s offer comes with room and board. You have your own cabin, baby.”

Baby.

Something about the name warmed my chest. Josie’d never been much for those little endearments. Every now and then, she called me cowboy, but that’d been it until today.

“My own cabin, huh?” Josie nodded, squeezing her pussy around my length. “How’d you feel about christening it?”

“FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, PLEASE LEAVE!” Lennox’s voice came through the wall, scaring the shit out of both of us.

“Shit, shit, shit,” I cursed as Josie quickly stood and reached for her shirt. I followed suit, tucking myself away before picking up some things that’d fallen during our frenzied coupling. I didn’t know where my hat had gone, likely fallen off when I’d thrown Josie over my shoulder.

“Lennox, I’m going to kill you!” Josie called out, pulling the heavy oak door open. She strode into the aisle, looking around before narrowing her eyes on Strider’s stall.

The top of a blonde head peeked over the door before ducking back down again. “Let’s just forget it ever happened, Jos. It’s not my fault your boyfriend didn’t double-check to make sure the coast was clear. I wanted to run out sooner, but it was too late, and then?—”

Josie groaned. “Please don’t say it.”

“Oh god,” Lennox said, faking a vomit sound. “I learned way too much about my sister’s sex life.”

“Sorry, Lennox,” I said, scratching the back of my neck. I knew she’d come up here after leaving Bishop’s, but I thought she’d have moved inside at some point. Apparently, I was wrong.

“Why’re you hiding out here?” Josie asked, crossing her arms. “You missed breakfast.”

Lennox groaned. I couldn’t see her, but it sounded like she banged her head against the stall. “Can we talk about it later? Maybe when I’m not trying to forget the past twenty minutes of my life?”

Josie walked over, leaning her head into the stall. “You okay?”

“Yeah, I’m fine,” Lennox sighed. “I’m gonna stay out here with Strider for a little longer.”

The large horse dipped his head as if saying he’d care for his girl the way she always cared for him.

“Okay. Love you, bug,” Josie said, pushing off the door. She strode up to me, wrapping her arms around my waist. “Wanna check out that cabin? I just need to grab the keys from Dad.”

“Sure. Let’s go.”

We headed toward the house, seeing my black hat lying in the dirt outside the barn. I picked it up, dusting it on my jeans before setting it on Josie’s head. She reached up, running her fingers along the brim.

“My hat looks good on you, darlin’.”

Josie smiled, ducking her head. “Yeah, I think so, too.”

The sound of tires on gravel drew our attention, and we both looked up to see a sleek, black car coming up the long drive. “Is that?—”

Josie’s grip on my hand tightened. “Ellis’ dad.”

Lincolnand I stood beneath the carport, his arm wrapped protectively around my waist as we watched the car slowly approach. I shifted on my feet, keenly aware of Lincoln’s release still leaking out of me.

It really shouldn’t have been as hot as it was, but holy crap… Even the thought of what we did sent stupid shivers up my spine. If it wasn’t for Charles’ surprise arrival, I’d have dragged him off somewhere else for round two.

“You think it’s really him?” Lincoln asked, narrowing his eyes at the Mercedes coming to a stop. “If it’s Ellis…”
