“Not where she can watch us.”

She rolled her lips under for a second before saying, “Good idea. Then you better put her somewhere where she can’t watch you giving me your gift.” The man definitely had a gift when it came to pleasuring her. They could squeeze in a quickie if he still wanted it.

He took the urn from her, studied the engraved pendant, took an audible breath, then nodded. “Yeah, need to thank you properly. Also need to come inside you before the party, make sure anyone with a dick knows who you belong to.”

“I think everyone knows already.” She leaned into him. “Maybe I need to claim you instead. Make sure all the women know who you belong to.”

“Only got eyes for you, beautiful.”

She believed it. She tilted her head toward the urn in his hands. “Can you...?”

He jerked into motion and put the urn back in the closet, this time on the top shelf. He closed the door. “Just for now. Will figure out what I want to do with the ashes later.”

“When you’re ready.”

He frowned. “Is it fucked up I wanna fuck you even with my mother in the closet?”

“Probably, but I won’t tell if you won’t.”

“Good at keepin’ secrets.”

That was very true. He was.

“We got time to fuck before we gotta leave?”

They would make the time if that’s what he wanted. “For a quickie. Where are the kids?”

“When I came up, Josie was playin’ a video game with Jude. Maddie said she’d meet us there.”

She glanced at the clock next to the bed. “We might be late.”

“Beautiful, you think you need to arrive on time to a club party?”

She giggled. “If it was anything like Thanksgiving dinner? No.”

“That’s a fuck no.”

“Then it’s a fuck yes to you giving me your special gift. Did you lock the door?”

He went over to the door and pushed the lock on the knob. “Yep.”

“Then why are you still dressed?”

He yanked his thermal shirt over his head and dropped his jeans and boxer briefs just as quickly. He still hid his scars from the kids but not from her. “Ain’t dressed. You are. Makin’ me think you don’t want my dick.”

“You’d be wrong.”

His eyes narrowed. “Prove it.”

She proved it.

They only ended up being an hour late for the Christmas party.

Shade stood where he could observe the family who now belonged to him.

Where he could keep one eye on Maddie and one on Josie. Where he could do a quick scan of The Barn to easily find Chelle and also Jude.

They were already two hours into the club’s first official Christmas party, not counting the hour they were late because he got lost in a naked Chelle and took his time filling her up with him and his cum.

Every once in a while she’d stop what she was doing—whether she was checking on Jude, talking to her daughters or getting pulled into a huddle with the Fury sisterhood—and look for him. Once she located him, she’d give him a small smile.

A smile that held secrets only meant for him.

He would lift his chin only enough for her to notice and she’d go back to doing whatever she was doing still wearing that smile.

He wished this fucking party was over so he could take her home and fuck her again.

But she fit in well with the sisterhood and he was relieved about that. Not that he doubted she would. She pretty much got along with everyone.

It was also good for Jude to feel included in the Fury family. Ozzy was teaching him to play pool. Once the kid mastered that, darts were next on his list of useless skills to learn.

Jude recently asked Shade if he could hang out at the garage so he could learn to work on vehicles. Dutch said he could become an apprentice and he’d teach Jude to turn a wrench just like he taught Rook and Cage. Shade read between the lines. Dutch would be happy to have some free labor.

What Dutch didn’t know yet, was Jude wouldn’t be working for free. He’d make something helping the old man out after school, even if it was only enough to buy more expensive video games.

For the most part, Jude was happy, but sometimes he’d still lock himself in his room and, if they listened carefully enough, Chelle and Shade could hear him crying.

They let him work it out in private. Eventually, he’d come back out of his room and act like it never happened. The only evidence being his still red eyes and nose. They didn’t push him. If Jude needed to talk, he usually went to Josie since she was old enough to understand since she had lost a parent, too, but not too old in Jude’s eyes.

Because of that, Shade had to clue Josie in on a few details but not the complete truth. The pact between him, Jude and Chelle was that no one ever admitted Shade wasn’t his real father. If it slipped, they were afraid Jude would end up in the state’s hands. It was a secret they’d have to keep until he was at least eighteen, if not longer.
