Russ snorted. “What about getting the girl?”

Finn laughed. “Are you fucking insane? Are you high? Are you listening to yourself right now?” After a beat he smacked his forehead. “Wait. I know what it is. You want me murdered. This is your way of getting me killed and my body disposed of without having to lift a finger.”

“Hear me out, man.”

Finn opened his mouth to protest but Russ smacked a palm over it. “I said hear me out.”

Finn nodded and shifted his weight on the couch.

“Will will be fine about it.”

“Ha!”

The hand smacked over his mouth again. “Goddamnit I said shut up. He won’t be fine about it at first. At first you might die.” He shrugged. “But after a while he’ll realize you’re in it for the long haul, you l-o-v-e her and you aren’t just fucking with her like one of your fangirls and he’ll calm down.”

When Finn still didn’t answer, Russ continued. “We just gotta make sure you survive the first part.”

Finn licked Russell’s palm and when he recoiled with an “ew” Finn cleared his throat. “And just how do you proposewedo that?”

Russ grinned. “I thought you’d never ask.”

“And I feel like you’re never going to answer.”

“Secret dating.”

Finn placed his empty bottle onto the coffee table. “She wouldn’t even let me take her to the doctor earlier. She’s definitely not going to agree to secret dating.”

“Convince her with your magic Light Saber. Wait – Doctor?”

Finn’s chest tightened. Shit. “Foot checkup. She fell and busted her ankle.”

Russell fell quiet as he tapped his index finger on his chin. “Secret double dating? Bre and I can be your beards.”

“What’s the world coming to when you’re helping me bag a woman?”

Russell laughed. “Everyone needs a little help sometimes. Think about it. Let’s make a game plan and get the girl.”

He made it sound so easy. Except the girl’s brother would skin him alive if he made a move of any kind on her. And Finn wasn’t even sure she wanted him to make a move.

Guess I’m gonna find out.

Chapter 12

Molly

Molly stepped out of the doctor’s office onto the street, the heat and bright sunshine somehow catching her off guard. She squinted. Her boobs ached, her head pounded, and she was hungry.

“How’d it go?” To her left, sitting on the steps outside the office building next door Finn leaned back on his elbows, ankles crossed.

Her heart stuttered. He was gorgeous. “Wh-what are you doing here?”

He stood up and dusted off his butt. “Since you wouldn’t tell me when your appointment was, and I couldn’t flirt it out of the nice old lady at reception, I figured I needed to take matters into my own hands.”

“You followed me?”

He nodded. “I followed you.”

“I’m pretty sure that’s illegal.”
