The bruja’s back. His mother’s caustic and cautioning words at Sunday dinner came back with resounding clarity as soon as Miguel Suárez walked into the offices of his multimillion-dollar company and saw her there.

Lissette Suárez had used a variety of racial epithets along with the Spanish word for witch because she’d never gotten along with the African-American woman her son married. She told everyone who would listen to her that the bruja must have put a spell on Miguel.

He hadn’t believed that his mother had really seen his wife. He’d assured her that she must have been seeing things. Because there was no way Stacy Williams-Suárez would come back to town and not notify him. Estranged though they might be, his wife knew better than that.

But there she was walking down the hall, every sway of her delectable hips mocking him. The red suit she wore put the power in the phrase power suit. And as she walked down the hall toward him with a slight slant in her eye and her lips tilted in a soft, taunting little smirk, he recognized that was exactly the effect she was after. She wanted to give the semblance of power—control.

A genuine smile formed on his lips as he realized that his sweet, sexy wife was indeed standing in front of him. Judging from the way his dick jumped to life, he was more than a little happy to see her.

“Hello, Stacy. Glad to have you back.”

Stopping directly in front of him, she put her hands on her hips. “You don’t have me back. Your company does. There’s a big difference, Miguel.”

Allowing the grave misconception for the moment, he decided to take stock of the beauty standing before him rather than disabuse her of the misguided belief that he didn’t have her back. From bottom to top, the woman was simply gorgeous. He’d always loved the color red on her. It worked nicely with her rich walnut complexion and brought out the soft red undertones in her skin. The silk stockings that graced her legs beckoned to be stroked. Her long shapely calves led to curvaceously firm thighs and hips that he could only imagine under the skirt but he remembered fondly. Remembering those legs wrapped around him while those hips met each of his thrusts almost made him want to take her against the wall in the hallway. The rest of the employees would no doubt be shocked if they walked in on such a thing, but Stacy should have calculated that risk when she decided that the workplace was the first place she wanted to be seen after her two-month disappearance.

Letting his eyes travel upward, he licked his lips at the slight, subtle lift each breath she took gave her breasts. The soft fabric of the suit and the silk blouse she wore underneath could not contain the bountiful bundle. He imagined the nipples underneath waiting for the caress of his tongue. Moving to her long, graceful neck, he paused and knew for certain that he needed to either make love to his tempting wife or move along to the confines of his office. The delicate ruby-and-diamond choker she wore around her neck made his dick painfully erect. That she still wore the choker meant more to him than the fact that she was also still wearing her engagement ring and wedding band. Those conventional trinkets may have held weight with the rest of the world, but the choker and the fact that she hadn’t removed it spoke to him in ways that he could never fully express.

Deciding to move the discussion on, Miguel simply stated, “Mom said she saw you shopping on Saturday. I guess she was right?”

An expression of hesitation briefly traveled across her face before she put her game face back on. Shrugging and twisting her sweet thick lips to the side, she said, “Yes, I saw your mother. But I didn’t really feel like speaking to anyone that day.”

There had never been any love lost between the two women. But Stacy’s attitude toward the Suárez matriarch still irritated him. His eyes narrowed slightly. “How long have you been back in town?”

Again her slight hesitation spoke volumes and clued him in on her nervousness. She took a deep breath and he noticed the gentle lift of her breast under the red jacket.

Tilting her head defiantly, she responded, “I’ve been back two weeks.”

She’d been back a whole two fucking weeks and she hadn’t come home!

She’d left their six-month-old marriage two months ago

and took a leave of absence from her position at his company in order to “clear her head.” Even though it had been the last thing he wanted to do, he’d given her space. Their relationship had been unconventional by typical standards and his decision to marry her had apparently freaked her out more than she let on because it had been the beginning of the end.

Emotions warred within him. And the biggest one of them—desire—had to be contained until he figured out exactly what Stacy was playing at. She wasn’t a dumb woman. In fact she was the smartest woman he’d ever met. So, she had to know that coming back and still wearing the choker, his first gift to her, his collar, was as close to resuming their relationship as anything. Miguel knew that Stacy was well aware of the kind of man she’d married.

“So, you’re back…only for your job?” He let the question hang as he trailed every curve and crevice of her body with his eyes. He then pinned his gaze on her and let her know with one look that all the red power suits in the world weren’t going to stop him from getting her exactly where he wanted her. Naked, splayed, and tied to their bed.

Her eyes met his stare. Recognizing his meaning, she literally jumped and moved back a space. Her semblance of control faltered just barely.

A lesser man might not have noticed it at all.

She lifted her chin and smirked. “Yes, Miguel. I’m back for my job. We never should have breached those boundaries. I’m hoping that eventually we will be able to get to a place where we can put the unfortunate incidents of the past behind us.”

Unbelievable! No way, Baby Girl! Miguel closed the space between them in one giant step and pulled her into his arms. He took her lips quickly and roughly. The kiss was meant to show her that she was not calling the shots. She tried valiantly to refuse him, but he wasn’t having it. Two long months without tasting her made him react like a starving man tasting a stolen morsel of food. Wrapping his arms around her and allowing his hands to rest on her ample behind, he pulled her tightly to him and allowed her to feel the press of his dick as his mouth ravished her. Mrs. Stacy Williams-Suárez had to know exactly what she was dealing with.

Stacy tried to catch her breath. The wind was being sucked out of her by Miguel’s sweet lips. It was torture. Coming back to town had been a mistake and coming back to work had been a huge misstep. But Stacy knew that the old woman had seen her in the mall and it would only be a matter of time before she ran and told Miguel. She thought she was ready to face him but she must have been crazy to think so. She had stepped back into his grasp and he was seizing control again.

She couldn’t let him have it. Could she? The last time she did, she swore she almost lost what she thought was her very self.

There was really no choice when it came to the kiss, however. If Miguel’s penetrating gaze hadn’t let her know, his probing tongue was making it damn certain. She was his. Her own tongue seemed to mock her as it rushed its way into his mouth and tasted him. The pleasure and pain of his rough, angry kiss had her lace thong sopping wet and it wasn’t even nine in the morning. There was no way she would make it through the day without crawling to the man’s office and begging him to fuck her.

But she had to. For her own sanity’s sake, she would. Then she would send him her letter of resignation along with divorce papers and put this part of her past behind her once and for all. She tried to pull away but he held her tight. Groping her behind, he pressed his dick closer. His meaning couldn’t have been clearer.

Just like that, he ended the kiss.

Stunned, she took a shaky step back and expelled air from her lungs that she was amazed she still had. She even found a voice from somewhere and it spoke. “That was uncalled for, Miguel. And it is exactly the reason why things got out of hand between us in the first place. Please try and control yourself so that this doesn’t happen again today. What if some of the employees—”
