From what I can tell it looks like the storm cell has gone, but I remember what Ben said about some hurricanes coming back to life.

The thought gives me a chill until I hear his heavy step on the stairs, followed by the smell of buttered toast and bacon, which cancels out everything.

Even the sight and smells of food and hot coffee aren’t a match for the sight of Ben though.

Freshly showered and shaved in a crisp new uniform, I can’t help but gasp in disbelief at the sight of the man.

“You alright?” he asks, pressing a hand to my forehead as he puts the breakfast tray on the low table next to me.

“I kinda have this ache…” I tell him, looking up with wide eyes, trying hard to sound wounded.

His brow darkens and he asks me again seriously, “Stacey, what is it?”

“Here,” I murmur, taking his hands from my head and dragging it under the covers, jolting me when he cups my already wet pussy.

He growls quietly to himself, keeping his eyes on mine, and makes no attempt to remove his hand.

“An ache, huh?” he asks. “Could be serious. I could take a closer look at it for you… after breakfast,” he says firmly, making me pout but teasing me a promise with his fingertips, gently stroking me until I feel like food is the last thing I need right now.

“Eat,” he commands, bringing my hand up to his lips and kissing it before he kisses me, letting me taste my own arousal and his cologne in one breath.

Before I can try and convince him to keep going, he sits on the edge of the couch and watches me eat, telling me all he’s been up to this morning.

“I could lay back and watch you all day, but with the storm passing us, I do have a ton of things to deal with. First being locating your rental car and getting your clothes back,” he says, looking disappointed.

“Get it back?” I ask between bites of toast, eggs, and bacon.

“It’s right by the billboard near the park entrance,” I remind him but he shakes his head in the negative.

“It was. Now it’s about a half-mile east of there,” he says grimly. “I’ve been in touch with the sheriff, who wants to send his deputy out to make a report. For your insurance on the rental,” he explains.

I’m sure he has more to deal with than that, and I ask him so. Also wondering why he seems so mad about the car.

“Because if I hadn’t found you in time…” he says passionately, breaking off with emotion before collecting himself.

“Because if anything ever happened to you, I’d never forgive myself,” he says, kissing my lips tenderly before urging me to eat some more.

“I’ll be right outside,” he says as he stands, giving me a perfect view of his perfect butt as he walks to the door.

“Not too much damage around here, but I’ll need to make a report for the head office and wait for any calls for help that’ll come in. We can head out to your car whenever you’re ready though,” he adds.

“Deputy Barbie is not too far, and we can let her know when to meet up with us anytime today,” he tells me before eyeing my plate and urging me to eat with his eyes.

Deputy Barbie? What the hell does that mean?

Not wanting to miss a minute without Ben, I eat everything he’s prepared for me and after cleaning up the dishes I’ve used I make my way to the bathroom, having a brief snoop of his place with the window shutters open, noticing how bright and fresh everything looks, despite the carnage outside.

Or maybe it’s just how I’ll always feel now.

Better in a brighter world because of Ben. Knowing I belong to someone and he belongs to me. There’s no feeling like it.

Wondering about my clothes still, and the little voice of my dad in my mind I never quite seem to be able to get rid of, I find a neat stack of clothes along with my underwear, washed and dried in the bathroom.

The clothes aren’t mine, and I wonder why Ben would have women’s clothes, least of all clothes in my size.

I examine them with some uncertainty, raising a brow at the brand name labels. These aren’t cheap.

The phrase Deputy Barbie pops into my mind, but I shake my head.

No. Ben wouldn’t do that. In fact, there was an equal look of relief in his eyes when I told him I was a virgin.

Takes one to know one, and I make a mental note to bring it up sometime.

It all makes a little more sense when I see the Parks and Wildlife tags for lost property ‘unclaimed’ with a barcode on them.

Hmph. Guess it’ll do until I get my own clothes back. If I can get them back. I wonder if they have anything else in my size. This lost property is nicer than anything in my wardrobe.
