None of them would wear their colors and if shit went sideways, they were to keep the club’s name out of their mouth. They would use the new van purchased for the crematorium that didn’t have the business name plastered on the side yet.

In fact, Trip said maybe they shouldn’t mark up that van at all for cases such as this. He told Shade to have Cassie look into buying large removable magnets instead. This way it could be used when they needed to go incognito.

Dodge didn’t expect any different from the club’s president. On the surface, Trip wanted the Fury to stay “clean.” What happened below the surface was a whole different fucking story.

When shit needed to get done, it got done in any way it needed to.

Like with the wannabe militia, the Shirley Clan, and their Guardians of Freedumb bullshit sovereign nation.

Like with Reilly’s abusive ex-boyfriend, Billy.

Like with whatever circumstance brought Jude into Shade and Chelle’s life.

One way or another, the Fury did what the Fury needed to do. Trip just preferred they do it not in such a reckless manner.

Unfortunately, sometimes that couldn’t be helped.

Like Sig totally losing his mind and doing the nightmare-causing shit he did to Vernon Shirley.

Sig could not lose his mind on this one. Dodge hoped to fuck the man would keep his shit together and concentrate on executing the plan so they could get the fuck out of West Virginia before they got caught.

While the goal was to get Maya, it also was to do it in a way no one ended up wearing metal bracelets.

In the meantime, they had a couple of days to wait and work on that plan. He was going to spend that time with Syn. Before Maya came home.

Yeah, home. Because whether Syn wanted to see it or not, Manning Grove would now be home for her and her daughter.

If she thought otherwise, she would lose that fight.

However, right now, they weren’t fighting about shit. What they were about to do was as far from fighting as they could get.

He was sitting naked on the edge of his bed, his dick a steel rod rising from his lap, while an equally naked Syn stood between his thighs. While he didn’t know what it was before, he now realized the small, very faded, horizontal scar on her lower belly was from a C-section.

He couldn’t imagine having to be sliced open to bring a child, one a product of your rape, into the world. Even more mind-blowing was still wanting and loving that child even when you were too young to bear or raise it. Still wanting and loving that child even though she might remind Syn for the rest of her life how her daughter came to be.

Wanting and loving that child even as if she’d been planned instead of forced upon her.

They all had supported Red’s decision. It had been the best decision for everyone involved, especially for Levi. Sig’s ol’ lady had zero regrets for wanting the best life for that baby. She was selfless enough to know in their situation it wouldn’t be with her and Sig.

Just like Dodge wasn’t bothered by the state taking away his sibling from his drug-addicted mother. His hope was that decision had given the child a chance to have a better life.

Sig had done the same with Syn. His goal was to save his baby sister from horrible circumstances. Only he had no idea his good intentions would turn bad.

Now he’d have to live with that outcome along with all the other issues the man already dealt with. But maybe getting Maya back, bringing her into the Fury family, would help.

But that wasn’t what Dodge should be concentrating on right now. Not when Syn stood in front of him, unashamedly naked and clearly ready for him.

When her fingers slid along his beard-covered jawline, he glanced up and saw her studying his face with her bottom lip tucked between her teeth.

Fuck.

“Don’t know all the details about what happened to you back then and you don’t gotta tell me. Willin’ to listen if you do. But, here’s the thing... Need to know if anythin’ I do bothers you the very second it does, you get me? If there’s even a question, raise it. Ain’t gonna get mad. Ain’t ever gonna force you to do somethin’ you don’t wanna do. There’s plenty of other shit we can do instead that will get the same result.”

He held onto her hips to keep her right where she stood while he made that clear. He wouldn’t do anything that made her uncomfortable unless she wanted to push her boundaries.

Now knowing what he knew, when he wanted to try something new, either to her or even the both of them, he would start slow, not assume shit, and then build from there.
