“There is a lot I want. I’m just not sure you’re up to giving it to me,” I tell her, keeping my tone cool and aloof. My words cause a slight tremble on her lips, but the corners quirk before she shakes her head.

“I’m not afraid of you,” she tells me adamantly.

I regard her through narrowed eyes before I ask, “And why, pray tell, is that, little dancer?”

Her cheeks heat at the nickname I’ve afforded her, but she doesn’t shrink under my towering form. If anything, she only seems to straighten her back and tip her head back with confidence. “Because I’ve spent my life around men like you,” she informs me with no inflection in her voice. “And they all think they have bigger dicks than the next. Only, it seems those who wave it around have nothing worth looking at.”

A chuckle vibrates in my chest and escapes my lips without me thinking about it. It’s the first time in a long time someone has made me laugh, without constraint, and certainly without having to fake it.

Luna doesn’t seem amused. She merely watches me for a while until I silence myself and lock my gaze with hers. She has beautiful eyes. It’s the first time I’ve looked at her, properly looked at her, and I can’t deny she’s breathtaking.

“Trust me when I say this, little dancer, if I were to bring my cock anywhere near you, you’d run a mile. I can and will easily break you in half.” There’s no hint of a smile on my face, and there’s no amusement in my tone.

Luna’s mouth falls open into an O shape, which makes my body respond with a throb. “Then I suppose you should keep it away from me then,” she retorts hotly before spinning on her heel and busying herself with her sandwich. But it doesn’t hide the blush that shaded her cheeks when she truly realized what I said.

Shaking my head, I turn and head for the living room, which seems to be an escape for now. I need another drink, one that will hopefully calm me the fuck down. Every thought in my mind is about what I could do to my fiancée. A pretty, little dancer who could so easily break underneath me.

The thought of gripping her delicate throat, squeezing while my cock owns her, makes me throb once more. I can’t stop the images of her crying as I thrust into her body from dancing through my thoughts, just like she twirls on stage, so the reel plays in a loop in my mind.

And I know this isn’t going to be as easy as my father thinks.

Chapter 6

Luna

Pacing the carpet, I sigh in frustration as the sun rises on a new day. I haven’t seen Enzo since last night, and once he left me in the bedroom, locked up like a prisoner, it was as if I were alone in the apartment.

Silence greeted me for hours before I fell asleep. And when I did, it wasn’t peaceful. Dreams of his violence invaded my mind, leaving me tossing and turning until I gave up trying to get some rest. I’m not sure what his plans for me are, but Father must have told him about my schooling. I need to practice my dancing, even while cooped up like a captive.

What he did last night, when I taunted him in his personal space, should have scared me, but it didn’t. Nothing he does can make me fear him because I’ve grown up in this world, and I’ve seen some things that will make even the strongest stomachs turn. And that’s what my fiancé will come to realize.

When the lock clicks on my bedroom door, I turn to watch it open and a man, one I’ve come to recognize appears on the threshold. Mario Errani. He’s dressed in a black, tailored suit which has clearly been cut just for his broad frame.

I cross my arms over my chest, wanting to keep myself from breaking down and asking him to release me from my servitude. It’s stupid because I know there is no escape, but it can’t hurt me trying. I can’t show weakness in front of Enzo, but perhaps one of the men who works for him will see how wrong this all is. “What are you doing in here?”

“Good morning, Ms. Cavallone,” he greets as he steps inside, taking in the room with his gray eyes. There’s a dark flicker in his eyes when he looks at the bed, but seconds later, it’s gone. He fiddles with his cuff links before he turns to me.

“What are you doing in here?” I ask again, frustration causing me to bristle. I note the small smile that tilts his lips before he moves deeper into my room. He doesn’t answer me for a long time, but I don’t move. I watch him from my perch near the window. If he were to attack, I could jump. I’d probably break something, but it may free me from this oaf of a man.
