"But you can, Giuseppe," Enzo taunts the man, slicing along the right side of his face. It's not overly deep, but it sure makes a mess on Giuseppe's crisp white shirt. "Tell my fiancée and I what you did."

My ears prick when I hear Enzo's words. "What?" I can't stop the shocked response from falling from my lips. "What do you mean?" I step forward, but Enzo holds up his hand, stopping me in my tracks.

"Look at her, and tell her the fucking truth," Enzo grits, his voice turning darker, more dangerous. When he gets like this, I know there's no going back. There will be a lot of blood spilled tonight. I glance at the older man who's now looking at me as if he's pleading for mercy.

"What is he talking about?" I ask Giuseppe, my hands fisting at my sides. I don't want to panic, but when his lip trembles, and Enzo presses the knife to his eye, I shiver.

"I gave you an order, Giuseppe. The last one you'll ever get because after this, you will meet your maker." The promise is there. He doesn't have long to live. I'm tempted to go to him and shake him. I want to force him to speak.

But when he does, I want him to take the words back. "I killed your father, and I killed. Salvatore because that is what Tommaso wanted." His admission has me dropping to my knees as realization hits. My uncle wanted my father dead. He wanted to lead. My father being older than Tommaso, meant that he would be Boss until his death. And my uncle couldn't deal with being an Underboss.

Enzo turns to me, as he spins the weapon in his hand and offers it to me. The handle pointed down at where I'm kneeling. My hand trembles as I reach for it, gripping it tightly as my future husband grins manically at me.

"Time for you to earn your stripes," he tells me. "You're part of my family now." This isn't just him accepting me. He's telling me that I can rule beside him. If I do this, I become part of the De Rossi Familia, as the queen.

Pushing to my feet, I take the two steps that bring me to the man who killed my father. Everything I ever believed was a lie. But Enzo gave me the truth. Silently, I nod at Mario who holds Giuseppe down, keeping him steady as I cut away each button of his now stained shirt.

Once it falls open, I use the blade to carve my father's name in his chest. The cries of his pain are a melody I'll never get out of my head. Once finished, I lower my hand and add Salvatore's name in blood against the flesh of a murderer.

When I've completed my task, I tip my head to the side and smile. "Goodbye," I tell him before handing the knife to Enzo who slices his throat slowly. The gurgle of the dying man fills the room. He chokes, sputters, and it doesn't take long for the light in his eyes to dim.

"Leave us," Enzo says as he looks up at Mario. His best friend nods and takes his leave. And that's when my fiancé turns to me, and I know what's coming next.

Chapter 28

Enzo

Watching her torture Giuseppe has done something to me. I can't describe it, but my mind is focused on claiming her. At first, I thought she'd shy away. I wanted her to tell me she couldn't hurt someone. But the moment he admitted to killing our parents, I saw her change and it made my dick hard.

"You realize you're a De Rossi now," I tell her when I turn to her. My gaze focused on her cheeks which darken with a shade of red. "You may not have taken the vow, but that was as good as it gets."

Luna tips her head up, her eyes locked on mine as she regards me with a small smile. "I was a De Rossi from the moment my uncle signed the contract." Her words make me grin, and I'm sure I look fucking scary as I stalk toward her. With every step I take, she takes one back and soon, her ass hits the edge of the desk. In the dim light of the room, even with the party in full swing just outside, there's electricity zipping between us.

"And you're okay with that?" I ask, it's a challenge for her to refuse me. To tell me she still hates me as much as I want to hate her. But the moment she took my knife, I realized I'm falling for her. But it's too soon to be admitting those words to her. It's not me. I'm not a man who ever wanted forever. Instead, I craved one-night stands where I didn't have to see them again.
