Meg sat quietly, listening to Beck and trying not to wrap her arms

around him. She wanted to press her lips against his and promise there

wasn’t a plane in existence where she wouldn’t want him. Instead, she

simply opened her mind. She let her feelings flow outward.

Beck sighed, and she knew he’d received the message. Cian came

around the other side. He leaned over to kiss her hair.

“Beck is afraid of what I’ll think, too, lover,” Cian explained.

“Once we bond properly, our connection will be complete. He doesn’t

want me to know what happened the night our parents died. I’m not

stupid, brother. I know something happened. I also know whatever

you did, I’ll back you on it.”

“I hope so. I hope, when the time comes, you’ll understand. In the

meantime, we need to discuss this marriage of ours.” Beck’s eyes

were dark as he looked her over. “I don’t know if you realize what

you’re getting into, love. I won’t always look to your pleasure. You’re

mine, Meg. Sometimes, I’ll just use you because I own you.”

Cian’s hands ran down her shoulders. “That’s why I’m here,

brother. I’ll

take care of her.”

Meg leaned back and let Cian press his lips to hers. He was the

soft touch. Though he’d been trying to be what she needed, he

couldn’t really work up the will to truly dominate her. He’d rather

worship her and coddle her. He was the soft side of the man.

Beck pulled her attention back to him. He was the rough side. He

was the dominant side that took what he wanted. It said something

about the man that even his dominant half would never hurt her. He

was hard and possessive, and they would all be so much happier now

that he’d stopped fighting his true nature.
