EPILOGUE

Janie

Three months later.

“I’m so nervous, I think my boobs are sweating!” I hiss as I fan myself, attempting to cool down.

“Or maybe you’re lactating already?” Ginny shrugs. “You have to produce milk for the baby, don’t you?” Ginny is the woman who saved me at the truck stop. We kept in touch after that horrific incident, and she happened to have a route nearby, so she’s now here for my wedding at City Hall.

“It can happen,” my best friend, Emory, adds in a know-it-all tone. “God knows, I was already soaking my t-shirts, and that was before delivery.”

I look between the two women in panic.

“Are you serious? But this is my wedding dress!”

Ginny smiles, unbothered, and winks at me.

“Then you’ll just be teasing Brand with what he gets to drink after he makes you Mrs. Danner.”

I gasp and then can’t help but burst into giggles as I look at Ginny.

“OMG, you’re so bad!”

The raven-haired woman merely shrugs.

“I know, but some men do like to drink breast milk” she winks. “Of course, I’ve never been pregnant, so I wouldn’t know.”

The three of us collapse into laughter, which only makes me more hot and sweaty. But I’m so happy today because this is the day that I become Mrs. Danner, and I’m so glad to have these two women with me. Emory has been a fount of advice when it comes to impending motherhood, and Ginny always knows how to crack a joke and get me laughing.

“Thanks again for coming, Ginny. It really means a lot to me, and you look beautiful, by the way.” I smile.

The gorgeous woman waves me off.

“Oh, it’s no problem. It’s been a long time since I got to attend a wedding so I’m glad you invited me. And I’m happy that we kept touch too because it’s nice to have a female friend to talk to sometimes when I’m on the road.”

After all, Ginny is a long-haul trucker and she’s still in the thick of things. Even though we’re both busy, we’ve called and texted each other a lot since that incident at the truck stop, and interestingly, we have compatible senses of humor. She’s a piece of work in the best way possible, and I’ve come to adore the sassy woman.

“I’m glad you think I look nice,” she adds with another sly wink. “I know this isn’t exactly what people wear to weddings, but I’ve been dying to wear this dress since I first bought it almost a year ago. I hardly ever get to dress up because of my job, so I decided to put it on today.”

We all giggle while staring at her outfit because Ginny’s clad in a red cocktail number that is so tiny that it’s not much more than a handkerchief. Her big breasts are peeking out from the sides, and the diamanté straps on her shoulders seem to be on the verge of breaking. Not to mention the hem. I swear, she’s flashing pussy as we speak, but she tugs the fabric down, totally unbothered, and winks again.

I just laugh. So what if the outfit’s inappropriate? It’s fabulous, and Ginny looks fabulous in it. Besides, Ginny prevented Brand from beating Jerry to a pulp, so she gets to wear whatever she wants to our wedding.

“You look perfect,” I assure her. But then I cock my head with curiosity. “But don’t you go out sometimes while you’re on the road? You meet men at bars and clubs, right?”

“I do,” Ginny smirks with a devious look in her eye. “But not in the way you think. I mean, I’m not exactly looking for anything long-term. It’s just hot fun, if you know what I mean.”

I giggle and nod.

“Good for you, girlfriend. Enjoy it because you deserve it!”

We both giggle, and at that moment, my mom comes over. Sheena looks beautiful in her blue gown, and she pulls me in for a tight hug.

“What are you girls laughing at? By the way, you look gorgeous, honey,” she sniffles. “I can’t believe it! My baby is getting married.”

“Thank you,” I smile before placing both hands on my burgeoning belly. “But I feel like I’m as big as a house already! Thank God this dress is loose.”

My mom merely shakes her head.

“Oh, stop it! You look beautiful like I said, and besides, it doesn’t matter. Plenty of ladies get married when they’ve already got a bun in the oven, so it’s not a big deal.”

“I know, I know,” I say, smiling beatifically.

Then Brand enters the room unexpectedly and comes over to place a kiss on my cheek.

“Hi baby,” he breathes in my ear. “You ready?”

I sigh because my fiancé looks absolutely gorgeous in a dark suit. His black hair waves back from his forehead, and those blue eyes pierce me to my soul. Plus, he looks even bigger and more bronzed than usual, his white shirt showing off his tan.
