Ugh, the man oozes sensuality from every pore.

I sigh, wishing I could ignore the effect it has on me. I hate the way my heart rate picks up and the flutter in my stomach when he’s near.

Stupid body, betraying me at every turn.

“You look good enough to eat,” he whispers against my skin.

I take my arm, wiggle it between the two of us, and give him a shove to create some space.

“Are those for me?” I ask.

He holds the flowers out. “They are.”

I take them from him and walk back toward the counter and grab a pitcher. I fill it with water and place the bouquet inside.

Then, I turn back to him.

“We’d better get going, or we’re going to be late,” I say as I rush back to the table by the door and grab my clutch and wrap.

“Where exactly is it that we’re going?” he asks as he helps me drape the silk across my exposed shoulders.

I look back at him. “You’ll see.”
