“Yes.”

“And she knows this?” Blake said.

Alastair tipped his head forward. “Yes.”

“You’ve just got to get her to accept it, though, right?” Graham said.

“It will happen. Take my word for it.”

“My money’s on you,” Blake said.

Graham stared at him. “I’d say I’m happy for you, but I’m afraid this will come back to bite you in the ass.”

“I’ll deal with everything that comes along.”

“Good enough for me,” Blake said and stood. “I’ve got a few places to get to. I won’t be at dinner, so I’ll talk to you both tomorrow at breakfast.”

Alastair waited until Blake closed the door before he turned back to Graham. “Do you know where she worked?”

“No, where?”

“Ben’s Tire.”

Graham grinned. “That’s a nice coincidence, isn’t it?”

“I think so. I know I would have eventually met her since she worked there, but I feel I was supposed to meet her sooner or the way we did.”

Alastair came around the desk to stand by Graham.

Graham patted his shoulder. “I wish you luck, brother.”

“Good, because I think I’m going to need it.”

“Well, I can’t wait to meet her.”

“She’s beautiful.”

“I didn’t expect anything less. Call if you need me.”

Alastair hugged his brother and watched him walk out. He looked at the time and saw it was dinner time and hadn’t realized it was so late. Fuck, he had wanted to be there with her at least part of the day.

He caught Martin, his butler, in the foyer. “I’m going up for the night. Have Clarice bring us dinner.” He couldn’t ever remember a time when Martin hadn’t lived there.

“I think she is already taking it up, sir.”

“All right. Good night.”

“Good night, sir.”
