Chapter Seven

After waking up the following morning, Graham locked Faith in their bedroom with a promise from her that she’d stay. She had wanted to come to the meeting, but he felt the first talk should only be the men of the family.

He’d left paper and pencils with her, so she had something to do.

His seven brothers and father were there in the small living area of his father’s bedroom.

Everyone looked at him as he sat down.

“Okay, I’ve got more information about the Morettis. Alastair, have you told them what you know?”

“Yes. Graham told me last night that she had two sisters and her mother she’s been trying to get out of her house.”

“Jesus. This just keeps getting more complicated,” Duncan said.

“She’s afraid her bastard father will just give Rizzo one of her sisters to appease him. She also told me he hurts her mom.”

“How in the hell are we going to fight with both at the same time?” Ewen asked.

“We might not have to,” Angus said. “I have someone that might help.”

“Who is he?” Rory asked.

“It’s a she, and she’s a special friend.”

Graham was shocked, and it looked like the others felt the same way. He hadn’t known his father had a mistress that he knew nothing about. “Why would you bring her in?”

“She’s not the kind of woman that you’re thinking of. Listen, what I tell you has to stay with us. Very few people know about her.”

“How do you know her, Dad?” Blake asked.

“I met her a few years ago. I did a favor for her. I won’t ever tell you her real name, but she goes by the name Legacy now.”

Graham had never heard of her.

“She is what you might call a renegade or avenger of sorts. She takes care of people no one else can, and she hates people who hurt women and children.”

“So, what are you going to ask her to do?” Alastair asked.

“We’ve got a few people that need to be taken care of, and from what Graham just told us, the sooner, the better.”

His father looked his way. “Graham, we have to protect Faith until we get this taken care of, and the only way I can figure out to do it is if you marry her.”

A few of the brothers’ mouths dropped open, and a few laughed.

Graham nodded and then grinned when everyone except Alastair and his dad looked surprised. Their wide eyes, red faces, and inability to talk showed how shocked they really were.

“Why does he have to do that?” Rory asked

“Besides protecting her, I want to,” Graham said.

“You’re serious?” Blake asked.

“Yes.”

“You’re not going to say some bullshit about destiny, are you?” Duncan asked in disgust, making him laugh.

He shrugged. “Call it whatever you want. But it’s going to happen.”

“Good,” Angus said. “I have a reverend coming this afternoon, and there is a marriage license coming from a judge I know. It will just involve the people in this room and the two girls, Faith and Beth.”

Alastair spoke up. “I’ll get Beth to help get her ready. It will help settle her a bit.”

“Does she know she’s getting married today?” Calum asked.

Graham shrugged again. “Not yet, but she’ll do it.”

“When will you hear from this woman, Dad?” Rory asked.

“Soon. Hopefully today or tomorrow,” Angus said.

“Her sisters might not have that much time,” Graham said.

Angus nodded. “I know. Alastair has several of our men staking out their house. They are told to block and stop any vehicle that comes out of the place until we get the women.”

Graham relaxed, knowing they were protected, and he knew Faith would be happy, too.

They talked about a few more things before being dismissed and told to be in the solarium at five that night.

“I’ll have Beth come in an hour to meet and help Faith.”

Graham nodded and slapped his brother’s shoulder. “Thanks, man.”

“What are brothers for?” Alastair chuckled and walked off.

“Are you sure about this?” Blake asked as they walked down the steps.

“Come with me and meet her, and then you’ll understand.”

Graham unlocked his bedroom door and let Blake walk in. He didn’t see Faith right away, so he called out for her. “Faith.”

Graham was looking at Blake’s face when she walked into the room. She had her hair brushed and swinging around her shoulders, and she stood in a sundress and nothing else. From where they were standing, he could see her bright green eyes.

“Fuck me,” Blake whispered.

Graham snorted. “Come here and meet one of the brothers.”

“How many do you have?” she asked.
