Chapter Seventeen

Jeez, the place was humungous. She thought her house had been huge.

They went down a few more hallways and finally stopped at the door, and he knocked.

His brother Blake answered with a scowl.

“What’s the problem?” Graham asked him as they walked into the room.

“We’ll talk about it later. What have you told her?” Blake asked.

“Told me what?” Faith asked.

“Faith?” a voice said behind her.

Faith twirled around and gasped. “Hope?”

Her sister nodded and started crying. They ran to each other, held tight, and tried to talk over each other.

“Do you think they understand each other?” Blake asked.

Graham snorted out a laugh.

“Baby, why don’t you two come into Blake’s family room.”

They both wiped their tears, but their smiles were wide and bright. The sisters held hands as they sat side by side on the sofa.

“Baby, Hope doesn’t know about us yet. I thought you’d want to tell her.”

“What did you do?” Hope asked suspiciously.

“Graham and I got married.”

Hope’s mouth dropped open. “Wait, he told me that last night, but I didn’t believe him. How long have you guys known each other?”

“This will be our third day,” Graham said.

“Why?” Hope asked.

“To protect her,” Graham said.

“It’s what I think we are going to do, babe,” Blake said to Hope.

“And I said I’d think about it.”

“There’s no time for that,” Graham said. “We need to take every step we can to protect you girls.”

“What about our other sister and mom?”

“We’re devising a plan right now to get them away from your dad,” Blake said.

“Will my sister have to marry one of you?” Hope asked.

“Most likely if one of them decides he wants her,” Graham said.

“What about what we want?” Faith asked.

Graham quirked an eyebrow. “It’s a little late for you, baby. And for your other girls, I hope you’ll trust that we have your best interest at heart.”

“I don’t doubt that,” Faith said.

Graham cupped her face and ran his thumb over her lips. “Good.”

Faith knew she couldn’t keep herself from flushing with desire. All he had to do was look at her a certain way, and her body softened and got wet and ready for him to take her. She tried to ignore her sister’s smirk.

Faith cleared her throat. “Can we know what’s going on?”

“When we’re ready to let you know, we will.”

Faith squeezed Hope’s hand when she opened her mouth to argue.

“I have a question,” Graham said. “How much do you two trust the men who have helped you in the past, Mateo and Trent?”

“One hundred percent. They have protected my mother and us the best they could since we were born. There have been a few times when they wanted to kill my father, but my mother was terrified it would come back to them, and they’d be killed,” Faith said.

“We’re working with them right now to deal with the situation.”

Faith nodded. She wouldn’t relax until she had her sister and mother.

Graham held out his hand. “Come on, baby. We’re taking you to my brother’s office.”

Faith watched Blake pull her sister up and grab her hand. They walked for a while before Graham knocked on a door.

“Come in.”

Graham opened the door and shuffled all four in.

Faith saw several other brothers and his father. She smiled when she saw Beth in the corner reading.

“Can I introduce Hope to Beth?”

Graham nodded. “Yes. Stay with her until I call you.”

She nodded and then gasped when he pulled her back, tipped her head up, and took her lips. When he released her, her heart beat against her lungs, making breathing difficult.

She ignored the grins from the other men, grabbed Hope’s hand, and pulled her toward Beth.

Beth looked up and smiled, set her book down, and stood.
