We pull up at the casino and some guy takes the keys off Ruairi to park his pickup. The building is a grey mirror dome shape from the outside, you wouldn’t even know it’s a casino. The doors are mirrors too and look very big and heavy. Once inside its very bright and airy. The carpet is red and gold, with green and gold going down the main walkways of the casino. There is a 3D screen above the bar, there’s a big pot with shamrocks, gold, and money, it looks like they fall out of it. There are rows of slot machines. I can hear the arm being pulled every second. There are loads of tables, I am guessing they are for blackjack, poker, and craps.

Over in the corner with red ropes around a few tables and chandeliers above each table has to be the VIP section or it’s high rollers section. I can see a few people sitting at them, even at this time of the day. Ruairi keeps walking toward the back to a door, it blends in well with the walls that you would hardly even know the door is there. We walk through it to a room filled with computer screens and a guy and girl sitting down looking at them. I didn’t notice much in the way of security on the floor, but I am sure they are everywhere, they probably stick out like a sore thumb, I just didn’t notice them. Through another door we go to an office and two large wooden desks, more computers, and a little seating area.

“Wow, this your office?” I say to Ruairi as I spin around.

“For now, it is ours. Hopefully, in time it will become all of yours, so I can do more floor stuff and leave the paperwork to you.” He smiles.

“You don’t like the paperwork?”

“I’m more of a hands-on kind of guy, if ya know what I mean.” He smirks. I think I know exactly what he means. He wants to be out there beating heads if needs be. Doesn’t take Ruairi long to get down to business. We look through a lot of the books. See what is making money and what isn’t. Ruairi tries to imagine my ideas and how they will work so he can make sure they are feasible.

“Do other families come here?” I ask shyly. I don’t really know much about the families, or mafia life.

“They come when we invite them for poker nights or meetings, but it’s mainly fun, no business. Most of the families are sweet. Just the dumb Russians need to fuck off out of it, but we are working on it.”

I nod agreeing with Ruairi. I have no idea what he is talking about, but I don’t want to seem silly or stupid, so I just smile sweetly, like the penguins out ofMadagascar, smile and wave boys. I know I watch too many kid’s films, but they are way better than stupid movies like theNotebookand other shite.

“No one will harm you while you are here, Sophie,” Ruairi looks at me in the eye as he says that. I believe him.

“I trust you and Cahill. I wish I could help more. I want to stop the attacks too.”

Ruairi gives me a nod and then it’s back to business. The day flies past. We go home, I eat and then bed. Busted after that day of looking at numbers and talking loads about my ideas. Again, I go to bed by myself. Cahill comes in at some point and then I wake alone. I go back to the casino with Ruairi the next day and we work hard. I meet some of the staff, mainly bar staff, and we talk about uniforms, cocktail classes, and serving skills. I book some classes and order uniforms, with Ruairi’s help and guidance. I don’t really know what I am doing.

After lunch someone raps on the office door. Ruairi answers it. He puts a big bunch of spring daisies on my desk. I am growing redder and redder every second. What the hell is Cahill doing. I open the card,

In everything I find myself doing in life, I am motivated to do better, for you.

A little weird coming from Cahill since I haven’t known him that long, but again it’s not signed off by Cahill. I smile and smell them. I will take them home after work.

When I get home, I set the flowers in our bedroom so Cahill can see I received them.

Next morning, I wake to Cahill beside me kissing me.

“Should I be worried about my doll receiving flowers and they’re not from me?” he whispers in my ear. I jump up,

“You didn’t get me them?” He shakes his head no.

“Then who did?” I say jumping out of bed and placing the flowers outside our room. When I come back to bed Cahill is texting. “Liam is going to look into it. I thought they might have been from Lauren that’s why I was pulling your leg. What did the card say?”

I shiver at the question. I tell him, “I thought it was weird coming from you, but I thought nothing more of it than that. I’m sorry. I should have said to Ruairi.”

“How were you to know, Soph. It’s ok, I will fix it. But it’s definately not Lauren?”

“No, I sent her a picture of them and told her you got me them for me. She didn’t correct me to tell me it was her. She was raging Ruairi hasn’t done something like that for her. Ruairi showed me the text he got from her. I feel bad for the lad. Especially now because they aren’t from you.”

“Ruairi is a cheapskate, he could do with spoiling the ladies more sometimes, don’t worry about him.” Cahill laughs and tugs me back into bed.

“I’m sorry I have been busy the past week, but I hear you are doing great things at the casino with Ruairi. He is really pleased with you. And I am super proud of you,” he tells me, sounding husky.

“Can I make you forget about the flowers and also show you how proud I am of you, Sophie?” I nod my head and bite my lip. I love Cahill worshipping my body, it makes me feel alive. I see a tiny glint of excitement in his eyes, which makes me even wetter for him.

“I want to try something with you, Soph. Do you trust me?”

“I trust you, but what are going to do to me?”

I know I sound scared. I am not a sex goddess. I’m still learning the ropes.

“I want to blindfold you and tie your arms above your head. I would love to spread your legs or have them tied, but I don’t want to rush you. What do you think?”
