I look over to Minjee and Bryan before I say the next part. They give me encouraging nods.

“We wanted to talk to you two about the ending,” I say.

Mr. Choi folds his arms over his chest and mean-mugs like a bouncer at an exclusive nightclub. I swallow, losing my resolve.

“Basically, it sucks,” Bryan says, cutting to the chase. Classic Bryan. “And it’s really sexist. It’s bad enough that the show tacked on this love triangle. But killing off both girls at the end? Come on, gentlemen, this is the twenty-first century!”

Looking very uncomfortable, the director and writer exchange glances.

“I really don’t think the ending will fly well with anyone,” I add, regaining my momentum. “Besides, this script was approved by Mr. Kim, right? Are we really going to trust his judgment? That guy hired a PI to trail us!”

Minjee nods, taking this as her cue to come in. “I talked about the ending with my parents and they were not happy with it.”

“And I don’t think the Brybabies will be happy with it, either!” Bryan abruptly lets go of the men. They stumble back, looking very overwhelmed. “Like, they love me and all, but they’re still a very bright and socially aware group. Don’t underestimate K-pop fans! Remember how involved they were in American politics?”

Both men pale at the thought. Neither of them says anything for a long moment.

“The ending is what it is because that’s what Mr. Kim wanted,” Director Cha finally says. “But since he’s not in charge anymore...”

He looks to Mr. Choi, who sighs and asks, “What do you kids have in mind?
