“Magic.” A feeling of being whole flooded my system, like I’d been missing something all my life, and I was right on the verge of making it mine again.

He let out a low chuckle. “Of course, you’d think that.”

A soft light touched his eyes as he brushed my hair back from my face. For the first time, I became very aware of our position. Him on top of me, with the seam of his jeans pressed against my center. And all I was wearing was this stupid T-shirt.

I shifted, then froze when I brushed against his hard length. Neither one of us moved. His gaze dipped to my lips, and so help me, I wanted him to kiss me. I reached up, tracing his jawline with my fingertips before I gripped his shoulders. He felt strong and solid and good. So good.

He closed his eyes and rested his forehead against mine. “What are we doing?”

“I don’t know.” But I liked it. I really,reallyliked it.

My hips flexed, dragging my core against his cock, still trapped behind his zipper. God, that felt amazing. I did it again, rocking against him, wet and wanting more. He let out a groan as he kissed my neck, trailing his lips across my skin and leaving goosebumps in his wake.

“That’s it, baby,” he whispered in my ear. “Grind that sweet pussy against my cock. Take what you need from me.”

I dug my nails into him as my pulse beat at a frantic pace, and my fingertips began to tingle. A golden light flared from my palms and shot upward, bursting in the sky like fireworks. The clouds overhead opened up in a sudden and furious downpour that drenched us both. I shrieked as I scrambled out from under him. He got to his feet and rubbed a hand over his dazed face. The rain continued to fall, but only in a small circle where we stood.

“Holy shit,” I breathed.

That was my rain. I did that. Though I had no idea how I’d done it, down to the depths of my soul, I knew the golden light had caused this, and I was the one controlling the weather. I clapped my hands together. And just like that, the rain stopped.

Wes held up his hand, which glowed with an emerald green light. Snaps of electricity, like tiny bolts of lightning, danced between his fingers. He met my gaze. A million questions I couldn’t begin to answer hung in the air between us. He opened his mouth to speak, but before he could get a word out, I turned around and ran for my condo.
