Greta

“LUNA,” I CALLED.

Luna walked into the living room and looked at the photo. “Holy shit.”

“Can one of you three tell me what the hell is so shocking?” Ransom demanded.

I lifted my head and took a deep breath. “That’s Leonard Conner Luther in the background of that photo, and the other guy in the photo is Malcom West.”

“Isn’t that the guy you said lied about sleeping with you?” Ransom asked.

Luna nodded. “He was the recipient of the flaming donkey shit.”

“I think maybe we should go have a talk with Malcom West,” Bear grunted.

Bear pulled out his phone and nodded. “I’ll get his number from dispatch.”

“You mind if we tag along?” King grunted.

“Do whatever you want,” Ransom mutter on his way out the door. “We’re leaving as soon as I get his address.”

Greta tipped her head back, and her eyes connected with mine. “Do you really think this is anything? I mean, it’s a picture that is almost ten years old.”

It was more than likely a coincidence, but it was all we had right now. “We won’t know until we talk with Malcom West.”

“Mouse and I will stay here,” Luna offered.

King nodded. “Good.”

Luna rolled her eyes and walked back into the kitchen. King followed behind her, while Rigid and Demon stepped out with Ransom.

Bristol looked around and then fled to the kitchen.

“I think you might have scared Bristol,” I giggled.

Bear wrapped me in his arms and pressed a hard kiss to my lips. “Stay here until I get back, yeah?”

I rolled my eyes. “I’m not going anywhere, lumberjack. The only plans I have today are to eat two or three donuts and hangout with my aunts and cousins.”

“I’m still waiting for the day you and Luna give Mouse the slip and get into trouble.”

I scoffed and patted him on the chest. “It’ll happen,” I promised. “It probably won’t be until Luna becomes a full member. Right now, King and Hero could boot her before she even becomes a full member.”

“Toeing the line until you can get away with shit?” I laughed.

“Yes. Don’t tell anyone,” I whispered.

He caressed my cheek and winked. “Your secret is safe with me, mama. I’ll be back soon.” He pressed a long, passionate kiss to my lips.

He stepped back after kissing me silly and I could barely think. “Are you sure you have to leave?” I whispered. “I mean, Ransom can go check out Malcom West’s himself, right?”

Bear shook his head. “I’m all yours tonight.”

“Fine,” I sighed. “Just remember I love you.” I couldn’t stop saying it. Bear was never going to forget I loved him because I was always going to tell him.

“I love you, too, mama. Try to stay out of trouble.”

“Three ol’ ladies are in the kitchen right now. I make absolutely no promises,” I laughed.

King walked into the living room and nodded to Bear. “Let’s go.”

Bear pulled his keys from his pocket and “Later, mama.”

The front door shut after Bear, and I quirked my lips.

“He loves you, doesn’t he?” Luna called.

I walked into the kitchen and sat down in front of a huge box of donuts. I grabbed an apple fritter and ripped off a hunk with my teeth.

“What’s not to love?” Meg asked.

Oh, there was plenty that could have made Bear run for the hills, but he didn’t.

“Well?” Luna drawled.

I took another bite and chewed slowly. Shrugging, I reached for another donut. “He loves me.”
