I glare at him before looking down at my body once again as I take shallow breaths in.
“The rightshape?” I say, shaking my head at the way my squishier bits almost seem to bubble out of the dress. “From what I can see, I look like a stuffed sausage.”
Luci looks at me in confusion before grabbing my arm and dragging me over to the large mirror in Dante’s closet.
“Does that look like a stuffed sausage to you?”
I stare at my reflection in the mirror, my reply dying on my tongue. I’ve never seen myself like this. My waist is cinched to the point where I almost look like I have those hourglass curves that I’ve always wished I’d had.
I turn slightly to get a better look at the new shape the corset gives my body.
“Is this really what men want?” I ask, frowning at the way my waist almost seems to disappear in certain angles.
“No,” Luci says, surprising me.
“Then why dress me like this?”
“Most men prefer a woman in her most natural state, at least if they genuinely care about you. All this,” he says, gesturing to my body, “is to push a fantasy. Valentine’s fantasy.”
“What makes this his fantasy?”
“Restriction, bondage, submission—”
“I think I’m starting to get the point,” I say, cutting his ongoing list off. “Am I expected to wear these every day?”
“And night.”
“You can’t be serious. How am I supposed to sleep in something like this?”
“I know what we’re asking of you is a lot, but it’ll all make sense when you’re with Valentine. Loosen the lacing when you’re alone at night, butdon’ttake it off.”
“So, you’re just going to have me pretend I wear these all the time? I’m pretty sure he knows I don’t.”
“No, but one of the first things he’ll do is offer you your choice in clothing. Choose the corset.”
I don’t know what to say to this. It doesn’t make any sense, but I nod my head in response.
“Do I have to keep this on while I’m here?”
“At least during training,” Luci says. “Now, take my hand.”
“Why?” I ask, eyeing his offered hand.
“Now that you’re properly dressed, it’s time to start your next lesson.”
