After I slipped my legs through the thong, I looked through the bags for a bra but found nothing. My C-cup breasts weren't overly large, but generally needed some sort of support.

I knew for certain that none of the old ugly sports bras I had would work for an outfit like this. Sighing, I slipped on the dress and then looked into the mirror.

Damn.I didn't even look like myself. The dress was an empire waist and gave some support of its own below my breasts, but the deep V still showed off far more cleavage than I ever had in my life. The material over my breasts turned into a twist that went over my shoulders, giving it an ethereal look.

It was beautiful.

Stupid Alek giving me a stupid beautiful dress. And now that I knew how nice it looked, I had to put in effort for everything else.

I had never been good with makeup. Becks had tried to teach me, but my survival mechanism had been to go unnoticed. Wearing makeup was the opposite of that.

But I was able to use Becks’ stash to put on some foundation, brow powder, some black eyeliner and mascara. Not a lot of actual makeup but enough to look like I tried.

Since I looked like a fairy in this dress, I reached for some of Becks' highlighter and went crazy on my cheekbones and collarbones. When I was done, I leaned back and moved in a few different angles so I could see how the light hit the shimmering, silver powder and smiled.

It was like I was a little girl playing dress-up.

My smile vanished when a dark figure appeared in the background of the mirror. "Am I out of time?"

Alek was leaning in the doorjamb. "If you keep smiling like that, you can have as much time as you need."

I went to bite my lip but stopped so I wouldn't mess up my lipstick. This would take some getting used to. "I can't imagine you shopping on your lunch hour," I said as I worked on pulling my hair back in a simple twist.

"My assistant helped me. If I had my way, you'd be wearing much less. When I start dressing you, I'll have to bring a car full of bodyguards just to keep other men away from you."

As I finished with my hair, Alek picked the necklace off the dingy sink. I held my breath as he set the chain around my neck. It was a silver chain with a black pearl that sat right between my collarbones.

"I'll get you something nicer than this. But I couldn't let a neck as perfect as yours go naked tonight." Even though he had finished clasping the necklace, his hands rested on my shoulders. And lord help me, I liked it.

His hands were so big against my neck and so warm. "I don't need gifts. I'm sure you can tell I'm not the type who is used to these sorts of things." And I don't want to get used to it, I silently added.

"Tell you what." He leaned in close until his breath brushed my ear, sending shivers through me. From his vantage point he had to be able to see right down my dress, though he kept his hands on my shoulders. "Despite how amazing my morning was, my day went downhill from there. So don't think of it as accepting gifts from me. Think of it as doing me a favor."

"You're playing me, Alek."

"I've been very open about my intentions, Daisy. And I'll use whatever means necessary to get what I want."

"The easy way or the hard way?" I guessed.

In a flash, he leaned in and nipped at my ear, earning a squeak of surprise as I jumped back into him. "Guess which one is more fun for me?"

His erection pressed into me, and I held back the urge to rub against him. It's like I put on this dress and became an entirely different person.

"Okay, okay, player. Let's go before we lose this reservation." I pulled out of his grasp, and he let me go without a fight. Ducking under his arm, I jogged to my room where I found the shoes and slid into the evil things. I was not a heel person, but we should get moving. Normal people get hangry when they haven't eaten, but I think Alek would just eat me if we waited too long.

When I saw the way he was devouring me with his eyes, that thought was confirmed. "I'm going to need your help, so I don't embarrass myself in these. Whoever bought these shoes is insane."

"If high heels keep you clinging to me, you know you're not talking me out of them."

I looked down at my legs. Ugh. They did look good. "We officially look far too refined for this apartment. Shall we?"

He smiled like a shark about to enter an all-you-can-eat school of fish. "We shall."
