Chapter18

The ride to Alek's home was decidedly different today than it was last night. Instead of sitting on Alek's lap and having him stroke me until I exploded, I was being tossed around in the backseat like a sack of potatoes.

I should be scared. Historically, scared was my default setting. But maybe Becks had been rubbing off on me because right now all that was coursing through my veins was anger.

Probably because I didn't think Alek would hurt me. He'd made it pretty clear that his intentions towards me were more lustful than bloody. I, on the other hand, wanted to go for a much more stabby option as soon as he untied my hands.

It didn't help that my shoulder hurt from Borya's bite. For some reason, I hesitated to tell Alek about it. Why did I feel the need to protect that jerk?

Maybe because I supported him protecting Alek? Or maybe because I didn't want to be the reason the brothers were fighting more than they already were.

Either way, now I wish I'd ratted him out immediately, if only to distract Alek.

Because now I had all the maniac's attention on me.

My angry thoughts kept me company until we came to a stop in front of the same mansion I'd been at last night. It was the one I'd stared at in awe and fascination.

Now it was going to be a beautiful prison.

I couldn't see the driver's seat from where I was stuffed in the back seat, but I could see the back door. I no longer wasted my energy yelling at him since the gag obviously made that useless, but I used my eyes to communicate exactly how unimpressed I was with the entire situation.

Alek had the nerve to give me a smug smile as he gripped my biceps and tugged me out of the car, holding me securely until my feet were under me. I debated elbowing him and making a run for it, but what was the point? I barely knew where we were, and I was way outnumbered by the terrifying men Alek had working for him.

If today had proven anything, it was that those men didn’t waver from his directives, even if they involved kidnapping in the middle of the day.

I thought I'd understood the caliber of man I'd been dealing with.

I thought he'd been dangerous on a lower level. I didn't realize he was dangerous on a nuclear level. The worst part was that he was making me walk so fast that I needed to lean on him to avoid falling as he led me up the marble steps to the door.

Actually, I'd rather fall. Not that he'd even let me do that. When I tried to let gravity take over, he just tightened his grip to the point I was sure it would leave bruises.

"I don't want to hurt you, Angel," he said into my ear as we moved towards the door. "The sooner we get inside, the sooner I can get you comfortable."

Excuse me if I didn't believe a word out of his mouth. Since I couldn't speak because he freakin’ gagged me, I did the only thing I could do and tried to yank free from his grip, even though I knew it was no use.

He must've gotten tired of my struggles because the moment one of his men opened the door for him, he threw me over his shoulder.

The only saving grace was that I was facing his back so I couldn't see the looks on his employees' faces as they saw him carry me around like a sack of flour.

He had the nerve to tell me just last night about how special I was and how he was going to spoil me. He had looked at me like I was the sun and moon and stars while he was taking my virginity.

I'd been so stupid, thinking I was different. Thinking he was different.

After all the crap I'd noticed and Becks had warned me about, I'd seen a pretty face and gotten swept away. I blinked away a tear and willed the emotions to get under control. I wasn't going to let Alek see me cry.

I was deposited on a hard surface, but Alek was careful to drop me slowly enough that it didn’t hurt.

It did not make me grateful. I wiggled around on my bound arms until I was sitting up so I could take note of my surroundings. We were in the middle of a massive kitchen. It looked like it should be in the back of a restaurant and not a residence.

The island I was on was probably as big as a full-size bed. The counters that bordered the kitchen included a sink I could probably bathe in, a stove that could cook enough food for an entire wedding reception, and cabinets that could store enough food to feed an army.

Thinking about it, Alek could totally be planning on cooking me.

Luckily, he went for a glass and started to fill it with water instead of going straight for the knives.

By the time he brought the glass of water over to me, I was fully sitting up with my legs hanging over the edge.

This proved to be a mistake when Alek gripped my knees, spreading my legs to stand between them.

My brows drew together in an angry V, but he didn't move. He gave the plastic holding my gag in place a tug, loosening it enough to yank it down far enough so he could slide the washcloth out of my mouth.

My mouth was so dry that the material didn't want to budge. The removal made me gag, even though I was sickeningly thankful that he was taking it out.

As soon as the cloth was clear of my lips, Alek held the glass up and poured the water in. He'd known exactly how painful this would be and he'd done it anyway.

I gulped down the water as fast as he poured it, with only a few drops snaking out of my lips and dripping down my chin and neck.

I'd be embarrassed if this weren't entirely his fault.

He wasn’t being generous and kind by taking care of me. Not only was my mouth drier than the Sahara because of him, but he could've untied my hands at any point.

He removed the glass when it was empty. I was finally ungagged and able to tell him exactly what I thought of him.

What was the point? He had to know by now.

"Does this make you feel like a big man? To have me bound and helpless in front of you?"

I meant it to be an insult, but he clearly didn't take it that way as he pressed his sizeable erection against my jean-clad core. "I always feel like a man around you, Angel."

Ugh!I jerked my arms trying to get free, but the stupid knot just dug into my wrists tighter, so I used the only weapon I had available, my skull, and aimed it right for Alek's. He angled away from me, causing me to bounce harmlessly off his shoulder.
