“Nowthat,” he whispers. “Was a kiss.”

He lies down with me still straddling him, looking up at me lazily. “And by the way, Olive?”

“Yeah?” I pant above him, still breathless from our activities.

“I was going to let you go with me either way,” he admits.

“I already knew that,” I say, leaning over him. “But I’m more than happy with this outcome.”

I kiss him again and he smiles against my lips.

“Do you want to rest here?” He asks, suddenly insecure.

It’s the first time I’ve heard him like this, and my heart breaks at his sincerity.

The gentler side of Killian is lovely, but I have a feeling he’s still as dangerous.

“Yes,” I whisper against his lips, and he gives me another glorious smile.

I shouldn’t stay here. My inner Omega is cheering, satisfied and satiated, but that doesn’t change reality.

But before I can overthink it, he sits up and pulls me into his arms. We’re both a mess, covered in slick and fluids, but the moment he pulls me close to him, spooning me, I quit fighting.

I shouldn’t do it.

But as he purrs against me, the rumble of his chest against my back, I drift to sleep.
