It made her happy that she had made him feel so good.

After several moments, Gavin tipped them to the side but stayed inside her. “How are you doing, baby?” he asked.

“I’m good. I couldn’t believe it I could feel like that.”

He chuckled. “There are a lot of things that I can make you feel.”

She didn’t know if she would survive it if it got better.

“I’m going to go clean up, and then I’ll be right back,” he said.

She closed her eyes and relaxed, then cried out when she felt a warm washcloth between her legs. “Gavin, no stop. I can do that.”

Gavin looked at her and narrowed his eyes. “But I can also do that, and since I’m the daddy, I can do what I want with you, and right now, it’s to take care of you. You gave me a special gift tonight that I will cherish forever, and letting me take care of you makes it even better.”

Alexa felt tears burn her eyelids, and her throat tightened at the emotions on his face. She was so glad she could give him a part of herself that she could never give to another person.

He came back to bed and cuddled her up to his chest. “How are you feeling?” he asked.

She ducked her head down in embarrassment, making him chuckle.

Tell me,” he said.

“I … I’m a little sore,” she said.

“That’s understandable. I would make us get into a tub, but I can tell that you’re already exhausted.”

“Yes, I’d like just to sleep, if that’s okay.”

“Yes, baby, that’s fine. Just close your eyes and go to sleep.”

She thought she’d go to sleep right away, but her mind wouldn’t shut down from what had just happened. It felt like she had taken a huge step toward adulthood, and she couldn’t wrap her mind around it. She was proud of herself, but in the back of her mind, she was a bit worried that if she gave him everything, and he ever left her, she would never be able to survive that.

She’d see what happened in the next few weeks and do the best she could to make him happy. That was all she could do at this moment.

Chapter Eleven

A few days later, Alexa raced into Gavin’s office. “Daddy, I just remembered something.”

She hadn’t seen the men sitting by Gavin’s desk until the last second and skidded to a stop. She wanted to drop through the floor in embarrassment. Her face heated with a deep blush, and her hands started to sweat.

He held out his hand. “Honey, it’s okay,” Gavin said. “Come here and meet a few friends of mine.”

She walked to him, let him pull her into his lap, and breathed a sigh of relief.

“Babe, these are two cops I used to work with. The one on the right is Trent, and the other is Simon. They are starting their own private investigator business.”

Alexa glanced at the men and thought they looked so mean. She guessed they would have scared the people who broke the law just by looking at them. They both had dark hair and eyes, tattoos on their arms, and Simon had several scars on his face, neck, and arms.

“Hi.” She ducked her head back against Gavin’s chest

“Guys, this is the girl I was telling you about. Alexa.”

One of the guys spoke up. “She’s beautiful and looks extremely sweet. You’re a lucky bastard.”

Gavin grinned. “Oh, I know that.” He looked down at her. “What did you run in here for?”

“Oh,” she said, remembering, looking him in the eyes. “I’m supposed to be at the animal shelter right now.”
